The location was really central, easy to walk around Funchal and access to the cable car. The washing machine was a godsend and the hosts left some snacks out, which was lovely. I really enjoyed the code access and not needing to worry about having a key.

There is a bar/club a few doors down and, unfortunately, on my last night there were people outside shouting between the hours of 11pm and 2:30am. There was a lady that started screaming around 2am and I could hear glass smashing. I had to call the police in the end and hold my phone out the window so they could hear the problem for themselves. My flight was at 6am meaning I had to leave the apartment around 3:30am. I had no sleep and had to miss work completely on my return day. The other nights the noises ended by 11pm so I think I just got extremely unlucky. You must must bring earplugs. It would probably be good if some were provided based on that noise level.

The apartment is centrally located in a bustling area of Funchal and has everything you need! It was very clean and welcoming. Very comfortable mattress and pillows as well. The hosts provided essentials like oil, spices, detergents, etc. They were also very helpful with tips regarding restaurants, shops and so on.

As other comments mention, I wouldn’t recommend this place to light sleepers. There is a (very fun) bar downstairs that stays open until 2am, every day except Tuesday. I normally live in a noisy area of Amsterdam and I’m used to sleeping with earplugs myself, noise does not bother me as much when it’s to a measured level. However, the bass of the bar is way too high. Unfortunately you really feel this in the bed, while trying to fall asleep. Even my partner who normally doesn’t struggle with sleep, had a hard time falling asleep. Not ideal when you’re on holiday and want to rest and relax.

Excelente localização. Próximo à tudo. Numa rua onde a gastronomia impera. Próximo ao centro comercial. Museus, igrejas, lojas, shoppings, restaurantes. Studio surpreendente.
