Stay here no questions asked

The staff was incredible especially the front desk people. I couldn’t be more excited about the food service portion, it was exactly what Aurora hunters and snow adventures needed, the breakfast buffet was the highlight of the day! There are other places to stay but for my money this is it.

My only complaint would be that the neighboring businesses could turn off their advertising lights. They don’t come through the drapes but are completely unnecessary at 2 am, this may be a concern for the city manager.

The breakfast was wonderful. Both of us enjoyed it.

Parking and other logistics. It was difficult to find the front door, even Siri couldn’t figure it out. There was a bit of construction going on in Kina so we drove around the hotel several times before we figured out where the entrance was. Parking was across the street and not clearly labeled. I had to ask the front desk clerk where to park. It would have been nice to know beforehand where you could legally park.

Not worth the price, even off-season

The room was clean, but the air conditioning didn’t work. We set it to 19°C, but after a full day, the temperature stayed at 22°C, just like when we arrived. You can’t open windows in the room ! The sauna and gym were nice, but the sauna only opens at 3 PM, which was disappointing since we wanted to use it in the morning.

This hotel does not match its advertised value, especially during the off-season. The reception experience was very unpleasant — the woman at the front desk seemed irritated and unwelcoming, which made us feel like we weren’t wanted. The towels were in poor condition — old and worn out. Not fresh fruits and vegetables at the breakfast

In the middle of a snowy picture book landscape

It was pleasant to stay at Scandic Kiruna. You can find the snowy landscape at the door. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you want to go on tours, you can find the guide office in a hundred meters. The breakfast offered a good selection of food and drink, even for vegetarians. If you want to see the northern light, this place is a good starting point.

Maybe the breakfast time could last at least half an hour longer.

Wonderfully spent time

I liked overall feeling of the hotel (the room, reception, restaurant) and also the facilities - Sauna and Skybar at the top of the building with amazing view, I liked relax zone with fireplace near reception. The staff in the reception was very friendly and helpfull, therefore the accomodation procedures went fluent and really quick.

The worst experience was with restaurant staff during dinner time - the food order was mixed up and we noticed a lack of team work during dinner time among the staff, but apart from this food was great and the dinner time finished nicely.

We arrived at 15pm and waited 1 hour for the room to be ready. The staff gave us restaurant vouchers as compensation. However, the cleaner hadn't left until we walked in the room, so I doubt she cleaned the room thoroughly.

Location, overall design of the hotel and the family room. Sky bar and restaurant area very nice and Breakfast was varied and tasty.

Unfortunately the aircon was not working during our stay in July and the staff brought us additional fans. Also the drainage in the shower did not function properly so the bathroom floor flooded. Apart from those 2 points very nice stay.

Not well organised regarding the parking. There is a payment parking in the same building but the staff was not able to provide any information about it. The free parking of the hotel is in a field on the other side of the road, but also there no info on how connect your car to the electric plug. Disappointing. Basically no furniture in the room. Cost/value ratio not very good

Comfortabel hotel in new centre

The comfort of the hotel. Friendly staff who try to make the best of your stay. Comfortabel beds. Beautiful view from the sauna and Top bar. Supermarket and some simple restaurants near by. Good breakfast buffet.

The room was too hot. 23dgr at night gave me a headache and at -20 outside was a big contradiction. Area is still in process of construction but getting to be nice. Bad public transport from the airport of you arrive on the eurowing flight from Düsseldorf. And in the weekend the local busses to the old centre go once 1,5hr. Old centre is getting empty and not much to do.
