Breakfast was excellent, fresh food, all of us looked forward to it every morning. Restaurant was excellent as well, and we normally never eat at the hotel on vacation.
Ripan had sleds available for free on site with many spots on the property to sled. Also had cross country skis and other necessary snow sport items available for rental at a good price on the property.
Spa was totally worth it with my 3 kids, used it for 2 days while there, good thing to do in the late afternoon before going out to hunt for the northern lights.
Cabin was small and quaint, but fine for my family of 5. If and when I ever go back I will stay here again, and will recommend this place to everyone!

The location is not so far from airport. Takes only 15 minutes by taxi. I had problem with my flight on the Day I come. Was trying to reached out to the facility and they came out with really good solution. Shout out to Mila from the front desk that helped with all the process and prepared my breakfast bag. All the staff also very friendly and super helpful.

Camp Ripan is just on the outskirts of Kiruna, and in the perfect spot for seeing the northern lights. The main building has an excellent restaurant, the spa is amazing, and the cabins are clean and comfortable.
I loved everything!

The staff is wonderful, friendly, approachable, and global. We had a lot of great conversations with guests and staff. Camp Ripan is a truly international gathering place for people who appreciate science, nature, and spirituality. Also OMG the food. World class dining, and I say this as someone who has a son who cooks in Michelin star restaurants. I'm not a foodie, per se, because the cost is mind boggling to me. So, to wind up at a "Camp" where the food was spectacular (reindeer, arctic char, roe, VEGAN!) -- and was not ridiculously overpriced was MARVELOUS. The Lounge was also a great asset. Some of my best memories were hanging out upstairs with other visitors, just chatting on the sofas. We stayed five nights, which gave us time to get to know other guests and enjoy their stories at the end of active days. Camp Ripan is family friendly and fun.
The light pollution around the camp is serious and regrettable. There were bright lights everywhere. It's not clear to me what the Camp can do about this because some of it might be coming from adjacent properties where the operator has no control, but holy hell. It was a real downer to be in a place like Kiruna and have floodlights illuminating empty parking lots outside our window at night. Also, the spa has a pretty clear A team and B team. For us, the daytime was a better time to visit. Beware of ice underfoot. I slipped and fell hard in the outdoor sauna, hurting my hand. They gave me a cheese plate to make up for it.

Breakfast was great. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for our needs and the trips that we booked through them went perfectly and were immensely enjoyable.
How to turn down the heating as it's wonderful to come back to a cosy room but was too hot to sleep and it was only the second night we realised that we needed to turn down/off the radiator.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Kiruna, look no further than Camp Ripan. We were there for 3 nights and there were always activities to do on site and it is a popular pickup spot for excursions out of the city. The location is incredible, right on the edge of town with hiking routes right from your door. We were there in the deep of winter and at night, when it was clear skies, we could see the northern lights dancing above our cabin. It is the perfect location to feel at one with nature, while still providing the comforts of home.
Also the Spa is amazing and well worth booking!
Be warned, the on-site restaurant is very expensive and there are no other options nearby to eat. If you are looking to save money, the cabins have a small kitchen to make your own food. I think with the lack of options, they could make the restaurant a bit more accessible with affordable prices.
Since we were planning to cook in our cabin, we were a bit disappointed that there was no seasoning or cooking essentials (salt, pepper, cooking oil)

Location, Breakfast, rooms all are excellent
I had two separate bookings made through different agents, one for each night. Well in advance of my arrival, I contacted the hotel directly to request that the same room be assigned for both nights, in order to avoid the inconvenience of checking out and checking back in during my stay.
However, upon arrival, it became apparent that this request had not been considered, and I was informed that I would need to change rooms the following day. As the accommodation consists of separate cottages rather than rooms within the same building, moving between cottages in snowy weather is particularly inconvenient.
I raised this concern directly with the hotel staff and requested that the same room be maintained for both nights. Unfortunately, this request was declined. This experience highlighted a gap in internal communication and a lack of flexibility in accommodating a reasonable request that had been communicated well in advance.
I hope this feedback will be taken constructively and used to improve the guest experience in similar situations going forward.

Great location and the cabins were comfortable and clean. Pillows a little too big for my liking but thatâs by the by. Had everything we needed. Had a spa day booked and it was super nice and relaxing
This is not about the property itself, but the scrambled eggs were not nice.. it had a strange sweet taste and the texture was very odd. We rented two pairs of ice skates and were told by a member of staff that the price was 75 sek per day but then when we came to pay the next day we were charged over 400 sek. Could be good with a price list

Easy to reach and check in. Lovely staff who gave indications about how to use the bus in the city. Loved my little personnal cabin.

It is probably the best place in Kiruna to stay comfortably and have a chance to view the aurora activity. With it's chalets very aptly designed, it was our right choice and we loved every bit of it. The breakfast is elaborate, sumptuous and well laid with excellent options for a vegetarian person as well, which is usually hard to find in other parts of Sweden or Scandinavia at large.
Only if the resort team can work out an idea to setup a centralised, soft alarm/alert mechanism in rooms whenever aurora activity begins, it would be great for visitors whose sole objective visiting Kiruna is to view Northern Lights. Though we were fortunate to catch an amazing aurora dance in sky as were chasing time, others might miss it out.
In Finland and some other arctic places, the hotels have such a facility which ensures the guests do not miss out on the grand display while they're sleeping through the night.
Hope the team works something towards this!

Breakfast was good, plenty of food and variety for everybody.
Room was warm when outside was -2 with 100% humidity at times.
Small kitchenette in our room and a dining table for 4 to have a small meal at if needed.
There is a Coop a short stroll away to buy supplies if needed.
Free parking right infront of the cabin if you drive and taxi can be booked if you don't have one. Apparebtly there is a vus stop but we couldn't be bothered to find out in icy and snowy condition.
Shower room is half closed and flooding everytime someone showered. Squeegee supolied but would still leave the bathroom wet. Imagine if you have 4 people showering.
Cleaniness could be better. Our porch was filled with ciggarette buds when none of us smoke. Were there when we checked in and still there when we left.
Dish soap was supolied but no sponge given. Need to use some creativity washing the dishes.
Not much to do around. No guided trekking, nothing was offered when we were there. A little boring. We found ourselves having to get a xab and go somewhere or take a private tour during the days spent there.

Breakfast is really good and high quality. Room is comfy and clean. Hotel design is impressive. Good internet connection and wifi !!
Location is not near to new city center and old city center is moved.however it is not a good place to observe Northern lights. Lobby bar and restaurant are quite expensive.

Exceptional stay. Every year I book a special hotel for my birthday trip and this year I have booked my favourite. The staff were exceptional and helpful even before I arrived (big thank you to Olivia for exceptional service). The cabin itself was lovely and I had a great time using the spa and restaurant (again exceptional staff). As a sober solo traveller I often get rushed in restaurants but here they made sure I was happy
The perfect stay!
Other than not seeing rhe Northern Lights (not the hotel's fault!) It would have been nice to have a robe in the cabin, but other than that it was exceptional

On the edge of the city, there is less light pollution, but it is a pity that the Aurora can not be seen in the heavy rain.

Can see the northern lights just outside your window, perfect view just outside the cabin. Very clean. Delicious breakfast buffet!! Nice option to have a mini kitchen though I think they are going to remodel and remove the kitchens. Not sure. Wished we had stayed longer and done the spa! Would def return!
Rooms and bathrooms were tight.

Clean, very nice breakfast, renting facilities,
There was no nice view, hard to see northern lights because of light pollution in and around the camp, the beds weren't as comfy as we expected, heating was weird - it was extremely hot so we couldn't sleep first night and we had to turn it off.
Spa was below our expectations, after paying extra we expected more facilities.
It felt like overall it doesn't meet a good price /performance.
