The Folly was perfect; beautiful decor, excellent location with close access to restaurants, shops and Lord Street. The flat was also incredibly clean, comfy beds and had all we needed for a 5 day stay. The lounge is really comfy, with a gorgeous green velvet l shape couch, very pretty blinds and a coffee table and dining table. Lovely touches throughout like dressing gowns, lovely toiletries and basics for cooking.

Nothing except we sadly had noisy people below us but that is not the owners fault.

It was perfect for our needs, albeit with a few issues.

Location was excellent. Rooms were roomy. Parking was good at the front & reasonable at the back.

Clear floor marking on the step into the lounge.Fire Doors were poorly adjusted which meant that they were too heavy & almost impossible to stop them banging, not just in our room but others around as well. They were so poorly adjusted that my wife was struggling to get through the door before it was pushing her. I know from my job experience that fire doors need to close but closers have a two step system which wasn’t used or not correct. No instructions for central heating or induction hob.

Very well appointed apartment, it was spotlessly clean and the heating worked well which was very welcome as the weather was awful! It was great to have robes provided.

If you wish to enjoy all that Souhport offers then this is an excellent place to stay and good value

Location Superb to explore both the town and the seaside

Very clean although shower tray had some black mould which can easily be eradicated. Plastic chairs at table bit uncomfortable and 'squeaky' and should be replaced by more solid wooden chairs. Hooks on backs of doors would be useful for raincoats, hats etc and one extra foot stool so both occupants can put their feet up watching TV. All minor observations which would make stay even more comfortable.

Location, to far without a car. For older people. To get from A to B very steep step in lounge. Had to climb it everytime wanted to us bathroom. Via a thick fire door. Not good for older people with Arthritis.

A Beautifully Thought-Out Retreat in Southport From the moment we arrived at No 9 The Folly, we were struck by how thoughtfully designed and beautifully presented the property was. Every detail, from the tasteful décor to the clever layout, showed real care and attention, creating a space that feels both stylish and inviting. Whilst the cleaning standard was good, there were a few minor areas of wear and tear, but everything else was truly superb. The home has a warmth and character that makes you instantly comfortable, and it’s clear the hosts have put a lot of effort into ensuring guests have everything they might need. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a place to enjoy. No 9 The Folly is a gem in Southport, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for something close to all the amenities, easy stroll to the bars, restaurants and shops. To Sophie and your team, thank you! It really has been such a special stay!

Noisy NOT soundproofed

The location

The apartment shouldn't be advertised as soundproofed. The noise from the apartment above was appalling and the staircase ran through our bedroom. The occupants were constantly running up and down the stairs and thudding above. Unable to sleep. So much for the 'quiet time'. The property looks shabby from outside. There was damp on the wall above the lounge window and mould in the shower. Both easy fixes, but clearly ignored. Will not be returning.

The fire door to the bathroom was hard to open (I had crutches) and there was a hole in the bathroom door. The kitchen chairs were without cushions and were very hard to sit on.

Wonderful and comfortable

Everything was fantastic, I loved this place, the attention to detail is wonderful from the fluffy bathrobes and quality bath towels to having an actual shower mat in a bag and a floor mat, which alot. Of places don't provide. Ice in the freezer a big bonus, it was perfect for me. Very close to all amenities and the beautiful marine lake.

Thunder feet upstairs, my only peeve was being woken so early by stompers upstairs. Other than that it was wonderful.

Great little apartment with everything we needed.

The location is great, within walking distance to the main attractions but not too close that it's busy or noisy. The apartment had everything we needed and was good value for money. The apartment was spotlessly clean and was very comfortable.

Appearance from outside could do with a tidy and the bin was at the front of the property and open on arrival which didn't give us great first impressions but otherwise all was great.
