Botanic Cottages

Lovely well situated Cottage. Perfect location. Well equipped. Parking good.

The stairs are a little steep and threadbare.

The cottage is very spacious and has a double bed in each room. Lovely bathroom upstairs and also a down stairs toilet. Very quiet when sleeping due to where the cottage is located. Was very easy to find thanks to the hosts instructions. 1 car outside parking but lots of road parking a few minutes walk away. We stayed for 2 nights and had 7 women age 22-60 stay. Cottage sleeps 8. The kitchen and dining room was a large space and more than enough room to host and hold all 8 of us to eat and drink together. We cooked both nights we stayed. Dishwasher provided. Small games room was a cute addition although we didnt use it much. Large living room comfortably sat 6 people however there was bean bags in the games room to use in the living room. Hot tub was lovely and clean nice seating area outside. The lid to the hot tub is very heavy. The location has some lovely shops and some great pubs. Plenty of supermarkets local. We had a lovely stay and would definitely book again. Have recommended it to alot of people for the future.

Nothing we didnt like just a few things we would do next time. We had to bring our own air fryer as the cottage doesn't have one, absolutely no issue as we knew this but just a heads up if you use it alot like we do. We made rice and didnt have a cylinder to drain it. We wanted to get cosy on the sofas and watch films, a few blankets would have been lovely there are heating instructions on check in however everyone was at different temperatures so I would definitely bring a little blanket. Bring your own towel for the hot tub, a small towel is provided but we wanted to keep these to shower so we bought some from the local supermarket.

Only 2 stools in kitchen one of which was dangerously near broken. The house was a complete warren, not especially bright, the front 2 bedrooms were very noisy from the adjacent road. It is NOT a four bedroom house ( which is why we chose it ) but 3 bed with two beds in one bedroom - this should have been more clearly stated. The trestle bench seat on the dinning table was not stable ( could easily fall off ). Only the one bathroom for 4 adults far from ideal. The hot tub might be a draw for some but of no consequence to us golfers. The steps up to the bedrooms were very steep - not suitable for the elderly for sure.
