Barceló Tenerife Royal Level

We love it

The suite we stayed in was exceptional. Beautiful balcony, amazing shower, very clean and set up for us as a family on arrival.

The royal level areas were spread across the property which made it a bit of a trek, but once we were there it was not an issue and we could happily spend the day there without needing to leave.

Food is great. Territory is nice and green.

The hotel has some positives, but there are a few important drawbacks. The location is very windy, and there’s a nearby airport, so you can hear planes during the day (not too disturbing, but noticeable). We booked a premium sea view room, but the balcony design was disappointing — the wall is so high that you can’t see the sea while sitting, only when standing. Even being close to the sea, it didn’t feel enjoyable. Reception staff were great, but the service in the main restaurant (Royal Level) needs improvement — orders were often forgotten or incorrect, and the staff were not very attentive. There are many pools, but due to wind and cooler temperatures, they’re hard to use, even the heated ones. An indoor pool is really missing.

The hotel has quite a few pools and this makes it feel less crowded in the summer. The pools are maintained well and are clean.

We booked the Royale Level hoping for a higher quality room. However, we had quite a poor experience here from air conditioning systems that didn’t work, leaking ceilings, blocked sink and then finally ants. We had family members in the normal area of the hotel and having seen the rooms it was hard to understand what you were paying for.
