Beds were ok but bit hard but think it was due to the wooden base frame. And the pull out bed wasn’t very comfy. But all in all ok thanks.

Good location. We chose the property because we had stayed there before. Very comfortable and quiet. We enjoy the view of the lake. We needed a property with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We would stay there again.

August is an expensive time to book because of school holidays. Our next stay would be out of season. Although we have eaten at the pub on site before we decided not to this time because the menu choices are limited.

Lovely stay in a very pretty lodge.

Lovely property in a very pretty setting. The Lodge had everything you could need and was really comfortable. Tom was a very helpful host and answered any questions we had. It's very close to the beach, only 5 or 10 minute walk. You do have to come back up a pretty steep hill though . It's roughly an hours walk along the beach into Filey, however we booked a cab to take us in on the Saturday evening and to pick us back up after our meal. Booking the cab was very easy thanks to Tom providing us with a taxi number. If you have children there is a big Haven holiday park nearby which you can.go to.

Actually thought it was closer to Filey but like I said cabs are available. The pubs on site were very noisy but one is at the Haven holiday park so obviously lots of children. Would have been nice to have a quieter option within walking distance.

The location is great, plenty of space for kids and despite it being school holiday time it felt relaxed.

Few too many ornaments with the little ones around but we just put them out of reach 😂

The lodge was amazing. The hosts had thought of absolutely everything. The spot on the lake was so peaceful. We will definitely be back!

Great location and property was excellent, unlike other places we have stayed the equipment was not the cheaper versions that do not work as well. Bosch cooker and microwave and a Dyson hoover all helped make our stay enjoyable. When we have stayed in other holiday homes these items are usually slow to work or broken. Lots of little finishing touches, like a jar of gravy bones for the dogs.

Can't think of anything that we didn't like. I was surprised that the site only recycled glass, all other waste went in together.

Lovely lodge.

10am check out seemed very early for the price. Just as we were getting ready to leave and packing the car at 10:05am the cleaner was there ushering us out. I find it hard to believe that it takes 5 hours to clean the facility. There is a log burner but no complimentary logs or fire lighters to use, we did buy some from the shop but when we came to light the fire we found that there was no matches or gas to start it with.

Perfect for a little get away great that it’s dog friendly out 2 little dachshunds were super chilled there.

Loved everything about it. Attention to every detail perfect. Lovely comfy beds, super clean, lovely spot on the site it’s placed on. The little lake is beautiful. Couldn’t fault the place and the local Chinese (jade garden) was lovely! We liked the place that much we decided to stay in and order food.

Relaxing lodge in beautiful surroundings

The comfort and decor of the lodge and the peaceful surroundings. Beautiful views across the lake. The kitchen was well-apppointed and everything you would need is there. The food at the pub was good and the service was excellent. Lovely walks down to the beach too.

Only 1 thing. I know there is not much room in a lodge but the bedrooms were very small and difficult to manoeuvre around

Good holiday overall and would return

Lovely view of the lake. Facilities within the lodge excellent. Dog friendly. Lodge is in a quiet location with lots to do in this part of Yorkshire

Bed legs in main bedroom. Caught leg and foot on the first day and badly bruised. Had to keep cushions around them to stop it happening again. No lights worked in second bedroom. Stains on settee. Dishwasher was full of crockery when we arrived and no spare key as indicated. No soap in either bathroom

Secret of Eden stay May 2023

We had a wonderful stay at Secret of Eden Lodge. The facilities, the lake view location and the surrounding areas were all outstanding. The lodge itself was spotless, with every facility you would need for a self catering, relaxing and peaceful break. An added bonus was the great weather while we were there, which enabled us to use the decking area for sunbathing. We would highly reccomend a stay here to anyone, solo, couples, families and friends. Hoping to return again in the future, thank you Tom!

The location was amazing - perfect being right on the meadow and being able to walk the dogs right outside. Really comfy lodge with everything we needed, would definitely recommend. Tom was a great host and communicated well.
