Overall we loved Doolin and enjoyed our stay. But for the cost of this house, we’d stay elsewhere.
We loved the location and the view. Both were wonderful. The bedrooms were large and each had its own bathroom. There were plenty of places to put our belongings in the bedrooms. The owners had left some cookies and crackers which our kids loved! We appreciated the power strips in each bedroom.
We arrived very late the first night (after 11). Our young kids were exhausted so they crawled into their beds and fell asleep. We were anxious to go to bed but found that the duvet on our bed was very wet - like it had just come out of the washing machine. It had made the sheets wet too. We traded it with the last remaining unused bed which had a slightly drier duvet. It made sleeping that night very uncomfortable. The towels were also all very damp. We notified the owners in the morning. They apologized for the duvet (they said they’d take it up with the cleaning company) and offered to bring us a dry one but by then, the one we’d used was mostly dry. They did bring more towels but they were still fairly damp. Families should know that the layout is interesting. It’s a two story house and there are heavy fire doors outside each level. It makes it impossible to communicate between floors. Our kids didn’t feel comfortable being upstairs if we stayed downstairs and couldn’t hear them. We didn’t like it either so we all slept upstairs. It would be better suited for a few couples or older teens who want space. A few things were in need of repair. The cutlery drawer handle kept coming off, and my 13 year old son locked his bathroom door and was stuck inside for almost 20 minutes. We could tell by looking at the lock from the outside that others had tried to pry it open. Some little extra touches would be nice - ice cube trays, coffee, cooking oil, etc.

Lovely location, beautiful views.
It's a great location for Doolin if you have no mobility issues. It's about a twenty minute walk to the nearest pub/restaurant, but taxi numbers are left for people who don't want to/ can't walk.
