Very clean and just a few steps from the seaside, behind Palazzo Butera. If you can, book the room with the balcony to enjoy your coffee there in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, so worth it. No breakfast proposed, but there is a small kitchenette in the hall with the free coffee facilities, so if you buy some cannoli (there is a mini-fridge in the room to keep them fresh!) you can enjoy your breakfast on the little balcony! Good value for money.

The owners are lovely people but do not speak English at all. Only Italian. While it wasn’t an issue for us since we spoke some Italian, it could be for anyone that doesn’t. From this perspective, the owners could provide clear check-in/check-out instructions (and perhaps some local dining & other useful tips) in English via Booking or whatsup (with Chat GPT nowadays this shouldn’t be an issue!)

Great position and clean. The hosts are really welcome and nice!

Location is excellent, just a few minutes from pedestrian zone. There's small kitchen in the common area, with cutlery but no plates.

Communication with the host. The host speaks only Italian and insist for communication to be through WhatsApp. Any problem is met with resistance from the host and insisting that's how it is, until she stops answering for hours. When you arrive in front of the building, the host asked us to send passport photos before she sends us the code for the lock box. Luckily we had internet, but it's very inconvenient set up, especially for self check in. And could've been easily avoided if we're asked to send it in advance. We extended our reservation for one more night and checked again when we arrived, and we were assured it's all good. But the host contacted us to move us to a different building at the time that didn't work for us, because the room was apparently already booked for that additional night. In the end we arranged time that worked better for us, she was 10min late to tell us that we don't need to move at all. Something she could tell us with a message earlier in the day. We were charged 10€ cleaning fee, that was already paid during original booking. When I provided the receipt she stopped answering for hours and in the end said it goes to the host and we need to pay. Shower drain was clogged with hair. The building hallway is a bit dirty. When you get out of the apartment there's no light for first half of the stairs.
