This was by far one of my favorite stays in the UK. The property is absolutely stunning, with so much country charm. There is a lovely private garden, and the byre itself is so tastefully decorated and cozy. The property feels rural without being too far away from town, although a car is definitely necessary. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and took the time to answer all our questions about the history of this beautiful property. If you're looking for a home away from home, this stay is SUCH a treat. I wish we would have had longer to spend here!

This place was outstanding, we didn’t self cater and went to the local pub 12 km away but if you needed to everything was there

The byre is a beautiful, warm and cosy property making it perfect for a weekend stay in this area. Perfectly decorated and equipped, the various living spaces were so welcoming. We had a lovely chat with Richard who invited us to view his magnificent garden and grounds. The byre is only a 15 minute drive to Caldbeck with a great pub and village shop and 20 minutes into Carlisle with everything else you may need. We can highly recommend this property!
