The Barn at Ellonby offers a quiet and peaceful setting. Just 3 miles from the idylic village of Greystoke which boats a heated outdoor pool from May - September. A lively, family friendly pub (The Boot & Shoe) that holds regular live events/ band and has a lovely beet garden with lots of play equipment for children. Greystoke also has an amazing forest to explore from the months of April to October. Ullswater lake can be found just 11 miles away a perfect location for wild swimming, paddle boarding and picnics. Mungrisdale & caldbeck common which offers some beautiful scenic fell walks including carrock fell, high pike and blencathra the common can be accessed in just 6 miles. You can access the centre of Penrith in 7 miles which is a charming market town with cobbled streets and has a selection of independent cafes and shops, and has a bus and train station, Carlisle is just a 19 mile drive boasting a beautiful castle and cathedral. If you are into your road cycling just from the door you can be out onto the best road cycling routes in the country just a couple of mile on to the c2c cycle route. Keswick is just 15 miles away from Ellonby, in Keswick you have a beautiful town with lots of independent shops and eateries, an array of accessible mountains and the stunning derwent water which you can take a steamer boat ride round to soak up the views
