Perfect stay for couples in a beautiful setting

“A beautifully located and thoughtfully run boutique hotel with a warm atmosphere - not perfect, but worth it

The property is beautifully located, with stunning views over the lake and direct access to the lungolago, making it an ideal setting for a relaxing stay. With only a few rooms, the atmosphere is quiet and intimate, which is what I personally look for in a hotel. The staff were excellent: professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly throughout my stay. I travelled with my cat, and when the room was first cleaned, they kindly provided an extra water bowl and a pet blanket! Thoughtful gesture which I greatly appreciated I didn’t use some of the available facilities, such as the bikes, so I can’t comment on those.

One downside was the restaurant being closed on both Tuesday and Wednesday. While this may be understandable for a boutique property, it still felt unusual — even a single closure day during high season would have stood out. Given the hotel’s relatively remote location, it made dining a bit inconvenient for guests without easy access to nearby restaurants. That said, the reception staff were able to prepare small snacks and drinks on request during those days, which was appreciated. It’s also apparent that Giardino places most of its emphasis on the Ascona location, which might explain the more scaled-back services here.

Clean and cozy hotel with a nice restaurant just in front of the lake

The location is excellent. It’s situated in front of the lake, park and a path where you can walk or take a bicycle to the center of the city. You can rent the bicycle and other leisure equipment for free from the hotel. The restless also impressive, for its taste and the location (again in front of the lake).

Some hotel staff were not as attentive or welcoming as we would have liked. Nonetheless, they provided good service after all and we were satisfied at the end.

No refrigerator in the room is a pain - it was during a heatwave and having no cold drinks was really a bit annoying - in addition I had medicines that needed to be in a fridge - I had to store them in the kitchen and get them at least twice a say

Wonderful location, staff, experience.

The location is stellar. The staff is amazing, the breakfast is delicious. The rooms are small, but you shouldn't be planning on staying in your room. Grab one of their bikes and travel, grab a sun chair and relax, grab a stand up paddle board and watch the sunrise burn away the fog.

Der Empfang von einem langjährigen Mitarbeiter der Repetition war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ich hatte das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Die Abwicklung des Check-Ins lief ohne Probleme ab.

Wir haben schon vorgängig einen Tisch im Restaurant reserviert. Es wurden alle Gäste sehr nahe zusammengesetzt, obwohl es viele freie Tische gab. Da hätte ich mir einen angenehmen Abend in einer etwas persönlicheren Atmosphäre gewünscht. Was jedoch viel störender wirkte, war die lange Zeit, in welchen wir vor den leeren Tellern sassen. Wir sprechen nicht von einer vollen oder überfüllten Auslastung des Restaurants. Schade, das hat meinen Besuch beeinträchtigt.

Ein Juwel - direkt am Lago Maggiore

Die Speisen im Restaurant Lago sind ein Erlebnis. Zu jeder Zeit sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Wir hatten ein geschmackvoll eingerichtetes, etwas kleines Zimmer mit einer sehr grosszügigen Terrasse.

Frühstücksbuffet ist nicht sehr gross, aber alle Speisen sind von sehr guter Qualität - für unsere Begriffe völlig ausreichend.
