It was adequate but wouldn’t book again.

Great location. Character. Nice living room with comfy sofa. Lovely and warm with good heating.

No proper cooking facilities so had to eat out every night or just make a sandwich and the shower was hopeless.

Homely and Cozy

Definitely a home from home feel. It was just so comfortable , quiet, and a great location. Parking and an outside seating area were a bonus. Would definitely recommend!

We just had to get used to using an air fryer! As there was no hob in the accommodation but we managed it and even brought one ourselves!

Handy location with a cosy lounge but otherwise a bit tired.

Handy location in walking distance of town, with local pub and shops nearby. Cosy lounge and nice outdoor area.

Bathroom musty with black lines along bath and shower edges, in need of renovation. Low wattage light bulbs in all rooms making the place a bit glum. No ventilation in kitchen. Lack of a hob unit making even the most basic food preparation limited.

Pleasant

The Snug is comfortable and clean, has car parking, and was quiet.

It’s a little dated now, mattresses and bedding need replacing, the only windows which open are the French doors in the lounge which is the only access into the property. The owner warned the gates to the parking area are very heavy and they certainly are - it was a real struggle to open and close iron gates which have dropped in their hinges, need to be pushed up a slope, and out of worn grooves in the tarmac. Very creaky steps in the hallway!

Comfy snug

Location was good next to a pub and could walk into town. Table outside to sit when it's sunny. Liked the sitting room with nice comfy settees with blankets

Could be cold in the winter. Radiator not working in the single room. Also couldn't open the winter. Would of been nice to have a tea/coffee maker but wass an air fryer instead

Lovely and cozy with a perfect location to Newark centre.

Great location. Clean and cozy. Sweet gesture of milk and ice in fridge. Helpful map and suggestions of Points of Interest. Good wi-fi and choice of TV channels.

When I arrived, the 'Private' door was slightly open, which I closed shut but didn't like that potentially someone could walk through and access the accommodation whilst I was staying there. I want to stress that this didn't happen but more that this door should be shut and locked!

Disappointing property and hard to see how it achieved a 9.2 rating in 2023. Could be much better.

property was well located and had off street parking, space inside was good, nice courtyard for the warmer months

On arrival (Feb 2024 outside temp around 6C) the property was very cold and took a good day to warm up. On the first night we slept partly clothed with all the spare blankets in use. Main bedroom had a thin mattress and was difficult to move around because of bulky furniture. Kitchen was adequate for us but lacked a proper oven which perhaps should have been made clearer in details. Shower/bathroom was small and shower hose leaked so not a pleasant room to be in. Overall the property felt and looked neglected with discarded building material in some of the cupboards, makeshift lights and a revolting dressing gown in the wardrobe. Entrance was via the french doors which had a deep step down, awkward if less able or a child.

A 'Snug and refreshing' Girlie break away

Perfect location, peaceful outside patio/terrace. Everything needed was supplied even info for local amenities. It was everything it said it is in the advert 'snug' Definitely somewhere I highly recommend for people like myself who enjoyed a few girlie days away, small family or a couples retreat and somewhere I will stay again

A Lovelyvalue for money property for a short stay.

Spacious, yet cozy and quiet. Clean and well-equipped. There was fresh milk in the fridge and tea and coffee sachets were provided for arrival. Also the throws on the sofas were a nice touch. Helpful visitor information (local shops and places to eat) provided. Easy booking process.

A little dated and run down especially in bathroom, however couldn’t fault cleanliness. Also having a solid base, rather than the metal frame, for the mattress of the bed in the single room would be better for comfort.

Location was good, you can walk to most of Newark was nice to have more than just a bedroom in a hotel and to have parking included.

There is quite a large step to the entrance this isn't mentioned, most was clean although the shower curtain has mildew spots and the provided bath mat wasn't clean and there are quite a few cobwebs esp in the skylights. The lighting isnt fantastic in the bedrooms and quite tight to get round the end of the bed and the table/chair which you couldnt use easily at the table in the double room the bed is very hard and low the opposite to the small room which is very soft and you can feel the slats through it. Maybe helpful to give directions as easy to miss!

The gates very difficult to open and close. Also the huge step down to entrance door very awkward as i am disabled. No mention of this in booking info.

Absolutely perfect location and comfort for a a great weekend of catching up with old friends.

We were able to relax and kick back after a very long journey from Aberdeenshire before spending time with other Royal Navy veterans. It helped to make a special weekend even more memorable.

In all I think the only thing would be a walk in shower. Not sure a bath is really needed but a good sized shower area would make accessibility lot better. X

Nice pub a few doors down.

Really cold on arrival and when heating went off. Thermostat at frost setting on arrival and off peak. Should have been at least 16 deg. Needs some sort of hob in the kitchen.

Lovely little snug location was excellent 👌 owners response when we had no hot water was great and it was sorted within minutes. Tea and coffee on arrival was much appreciated.

The cutlery in the kitchen drawer was not clean but we washed it before use so not a tragedy

It's a lovely property which is well located. The value for money was incredible with this property.

The hosts weren't entirely welcoming to myself as a wheelchair user and assistance dog handler. From the correspondence, I felt unwanted as a guest and was encouraged to cancel the booking - despite cancellation not being available. It was disappointing because I genuinely really enjoyed my stay in the property and I would have rated it a 10 if it hadn't been for the correspondence from the hosts. I don't believe there was any malice intended, but better awareness and understanding of disabilities and auxiliary aids is possibly needed. I loved the property so much, I would still stay again though!
