Clean, homely and well kitted out for home life away from home.

We stayed at the property for four nights and overall had a pleasant stay, particularly because of its excellent location. The biggest positive is how close it is to the beach. The walk down is lovely, with easy access to several different beach areas and the lighthouse. It’s a great spot for anyone who enjoys coastal walks, and dog owners will probably appreciate being slightly away from the busiest beach areas. The property also has its own parking space, which was easy to find and convenient to use. Inside, there was plenty of space for the three of us, the bathroom was well supplied with towels, and the welcome basket was a thoughtful touch. We also appreciated the selection of games and toys available for children.

There are a few areas where some attention could make a significant difference. The exterior of the property feels a little tired and could benefit from some tidying up to create a stronger first impression. Inside, while the property appeared generally clean, some areas felt as though they would benefit from a deeper clean. We noticed dust and debris in places such as under furniture and rugs, and there was a slight film on some surfaces and floors which was noticeable when walking around barefoot. The kitchen was functional but somewhat limited in terms of equipment. Some of the cookware was showing signs of wear, particularly the non-stick pans, and a few items such as the kitchen scissors would benefit from replacement. The kitchen tap was also a little loose and may need attention in the future. The bedrooms were adequate and the bedding appeared clean, although the mattresses and pillows felt as though they could perhaps do with refreshing. The beds were comfortable enough, but not particularly memorable from a comfort perspective. One thing worth noting is that the property is located on a main road and close to the country club, so there can be some traffic and general noise, especially during warmer weather when windows are open. Overall, we enjoyed the location and could see that this is a property that has been cared for over time. However, we felt that some maintenance updates, deeper cleaning, and refreshing of a few household items would greatly improve the experience. While it suited our needs for this trip, we personally wouldn’t choose to return at the current price point, though others may find the location and convenience outweigh the points mentioned above.
