I will be coming back to this beautiful location again.

While we stayed it was snowing so the sketch pad was really cozy and warm especially with the log fire burning. The views are incredible and the walks around the woods are a step into another world. Everything we could possibly need was provided for us. It couldn’t have been a better stay.

The snow made it hard to reach the property however the owners were extremely accommodating and helped us reach where we needed to go.

It’s like a tiny bit of heaven

I loved everything, the estate was beautiful, you could see the love that has been poured into rebuilding it. The little lodge we had was wonderful the views were amazing, and it had everything you could need to have a great break away. It’s tucked away enough to feel like you’re away from it all, but close enough to a town that there’s everything you need on your doorstep.

There was nothing I didn’t like, except maybe that I couldn’t stay longer. It was slightly over budget for just one night away, but was worth it.

Edith was a wonderful host. Very kind, excellent communicator. Her place was absolutely beautiful, with a wonderful story. The setting was peaceful and scenic with lush, neatly manicured lawns and great views of the mountains, including Ben Nevis.

A paradise beyond time and space!

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The host and her family were extremely helpful **in ensuring** we had a pleasant stay. The location was a bit far from the main road, but it was definitely worth the trip because the view was unbelievable!!

Beautiful hideaway in the west highlands

Lovely accommodations, wish I could have stayed longer. Hot tub view of Ben Nevis, what's not to enjoy? Location worked well as a way station for us between the Lake District and Skye. It's a great getaway if you want a self catering retreat.

The Morrisons nearby was not well stocked, practically empty, so bring your provisions from afar if you are planning to make meals! It abuts a sheep field so take care on your walks.

4 days in the blistering sun

Overall an amazing experience and location. We were lucky to have 4 days of hot sunshine whilst there and with that comes my only criticism. We were unable to turn the heating up or down and so at points, especially at night, we were cooking. There is a message on the welcome pack that says we could contact someone to change this but often we'd forget until it was too late. Other than that everything else was tip top. The views, serene surroundings and the space to be on your own were amazing. The host was great to bump into on one of our walks as well, giving us tips on where to go for even better views. We certainly will consider the estate again in the future.

Absolutely amazing.

The property was set in an amazing location with views of the Nevis range and had all the amenities you could need. It was in a very peaceful location. The bed was comfy. You felt cared about as there is a sketchbook where they like to remember their guests and it explains about the sentimental reasons behind it being built.

We went on a quite warm weekend and there was no way to really cool down apart from leaving the doors open over night although we were very kindly provided with a fan.

lovely and cosy but privacy is an issue!!!

we loved the view! we loved the hot tub, we loved the little log burner, the whole property itself was wonderful.

privacy!!!! the host has said they removed one of the blinds as they had previous feedback to do so… however i would’ve liked the choice! there was no privacy walking back and forth to the loo or hot tub, it’s a large area and i felt very exposed. also the main house itself is quite close to the lodge which i was surprised about as the pics didn't show this atall, i appreciated that the blinds were drawn but we still felt exposed and uncomfortable.

What a unique and fantastic place to stay, stunning views of the mountains and clear enough to see Ben Nevis during our stay, The Sketch Pad was fully equipped, spotless and very comfortable. Hot Tub a huge bonus with probably the best view in Scotland. Thank you so much.

A perfect stay! Stunning secluded location with breathtaking views from the drive up to the estate along a creek, the estate grounds and panoramic views from the Sketch pad double doors. Exceptionally clean, well furnished, a lovey bed and linen and fantastic attention to detail. Safe to say we loved the place!

The estate grounds and Sketch pad is fantastic! If you have reservations about the price… it’s worth every penny. You’re correct in thinking it is a lot of money per night however, we left feeling like it was good value for money and would pay it again! The place didn’t disappoint. There is a property to the right of the Sketch pad which we were slightly concerned about before our stay however… once at the pad it felt secluded and extremely private. The privacy was great with the windows pointing at the view away from the other buildings. Not a problem, very private.

This property is located in a stunning, well maintained private estate. The decor and facilities are well selected to provide ambience and high quality experience. The kitchen is well stocked to allow you to cook well within the lodge. The views and scenery are outstanding and the team are excellent - on hand for any queries and very knowledgeable about the local area for walks etc.
