The best two nights during our entire 10 day trip to UK.

The property was very nice. Our room was perfect for a family of three. Our host Paul was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended for a 2nd night, which I imagine wasn’t easy for Paul but he made it work without hesitation. If we ever return to the area I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. The location worked for us and compared to other properties in the area, it was a great value. Also, the beds were the most comfortable we experienced during our week in Scotland.

The property is close to A82, so I thought there might be some highway road noise. It was just barely noticeable and reduced to near nothing over the course of the evening. That’s all I can come up with for a negative. It really was an excellent 2 days.

Beautiful old building impeccably furnished and maintained, large space, comfortable facilities, decent location.

Location, but that ended up being a complete non-issue. Proximity to services and excellent sound-proofing more than made up for its being right next to the main route through the little town of Spean Bridge. Tucked away below the bridge itself, the grounds were beautiful and again, the property itself was marvelous.

Beautiful house in a great location – everything we needed!

We had a wonderful stay! Everything was perfect – the house itself is beautiful, very clean and comfortable, and located in a fantastic area. We had everything we needed during our stay, and Paul was incredibly kind and attentive from start to finish. It was the ideal place for a family getaway. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Paul and his sister Jackie, whose gracious hospitality instantly made us feel at home. The lodge itself is immaculate. Our room was spotless, generously sized, and perfectly cosy—combining comfort with understated elegance. Every detail reflected thoughtful care and high standards. Set beside a gentle stream, the grounds exude a peaceful, almost sacred quality. The soothing sound of the water, the lush greenery, and the overall tranquillity make Spean Lodge feel more like a retreat than just accommodation. This is more than a place to stay—it’s an experience that lingers. We left feeling restored and grateful. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, authenticity, and a touch of magic in the Highlands.

If there’s one regret, it’s that we only stayed for one night. Spean Lodge is the kind of place that truly deserves a longer visit—somewhere to slow down, unwind, and fully take in the beauty and tranquillity it offers.

Lovely Place to stay, exceptional Host

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Spean Lodge. The house itself is warm, charming, and full of character, a perfect retreat surrounded by stunning lawns. Rooms are very clean and comfortably furnished and the log fireplace added to the experience which our kids loved. What truly made our experience special was the host Paul. He was there when we arrived and was incredibly welcoming, attentive to all our requests, full of helpful local tips and we enjoyed the wonderful small conversations with him through out the stay. This place is highly recommended

Authentic place - nice people - great memory.

A great lodge in the highlands, amidst a beautiful garden. Our room was nice and cosy, the living room wonderful with an open fireplace, perfect for the Scottish weather. Everything was spotless clean and arranged with love, also the fresh flowers add to make it special. Breakfast was lovely and the hosts Paul and Jackie were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Excellent healthy breakfast with lots of choice. Paul was a charming man and had me in fits of laughter with his stories of his time as a photographer in London.

Un Bed & Breakfast comme on l'espérait

Nous avons logé dans la River View House. Sur deux étages avec en bas cuisine, salon, douche, WC et a l'étage deux grandes chambres dont 1 immense avec salle d'eau. L'appartement était super propre et confortable. De plus Paul, notre hote, a été très chaleureux et accueillant. Le petit dejeuner était très bon et servi dans une salle avec un feu de cheminée. Nous recommandons vivement et aurions bien passé une ou deux nuits de plus !!! We stayed at River View House, a two-story accommodation with a kitchen, living room, shower, and toilet downstairs, and two spacious bedrooms upstairs—one of which is absolutely massive and has its own bathroom. The apartment was impeccably clean and extremely comfortable. On top of that, Paul, our host, was incredibly warm and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and served in a cozy room with a fireplace. We highly recommend this place and would have happily stayed another night or two!

Rien ! Juste savoir qu'il vaut mieux avoir un véhicule (c'était notre cas) pour visiter les alentours. Just one note: having a car is definitely an advantage for exploring the surrounding area.

Die Gastgeber Paul und Jacki waren überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Spean Lodge ist ein kleines Juwel und von mir jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen. Die Lage mitten in den Highlands ist jede Reise wert.
