From the start to finish it was a wonderful stay. We were worried about depending on the golf cart to take us to the hotel but despite reaching at 2am, the hotel staff kept communication and picked us up. The golf carts are always available!
The outdoor washrooms was the next one we were a bit concerned with, however we got used to it and it even grew into us !! There wa jus something blissful about it
The property does their fair share of warning you about geckos and insects, however to my surprise there was no insects or geckos! Be smart and keep the doors and window closed in the evenings as they are attracted to light.
We tried the massages and ring making as well available on the property both were great and worth the money spent
Overall it’s a very pleasant stay. We highly recommend this place! It really takes you away with the green and nature all around you. The staff are amazing, very polite and helpful at all times. Kudos to the whole team and thankyou very much 🙏🏽

We stayed at Alam Wayang Ubud for four nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Although we arrived late, close to 10:00 PM, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff with genuine smiles. Dinner had already been ordered on our way to the hotel and was served hot in the pergola by the swimming pool, which was a very thoughtful and pleasant touch after a long journey.
Waking up in the morning to birds chirping and fresh air was truly refreshing. The property is surrounded by trees and lush greenery, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The hotel itself is cozy and beautifully maintained. We stayed in the Yudhistira Villa, a spacious two-bedroom villa with a private swimming pool, which comfortably accommodated the four of us.
During our stay, we experienced an issue with the air conditioner. The staff responded immediately and handled the situation with great professionalism. We were upgraded to a three-bedroom villa for one night while the issue was being resolved, which we greatly appreciated.
Breakfast at the resort was healthy and enjoyable, and the food overall was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff consistently greeted us with smiles, and every request was attended to promptly. The buggy service was always available and made it very convenient to reach our car. In addition, the laundry service was very affordable and always delivered on time, which was extremely convenient during our stay.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and the warmth, responsiveness, and attention to detail from the entire team made our time at Alam Wayang Ubud truly memorable.
We did not find anything for further improvement.

Beautiful garden, very traditional balinese setting and rooms, great breakfast - very accommodating for adjustments. The location is great away from a busy street since there are no cars allowed. Easy to walk on pedestrian walkways to restaurants, yoga, grocery store and take the stairs down to the main road. Loved how it felt like being in nature. The large open air bathroom is a nice feature, each room is very private since they are each little buildings. The staff are very nice. The pool is also great.
Not as high-end as expected (the photos make it seem more so), it's still very charming and I would recommend it.

I had a wonderful stay at Sudamala Resort Komodo. The staff were absolutely amazing—warm, friendly, and always ready to help, which really elevated the experience. The location is stunning, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the overall service was excellent.
No comment at all on the negatives. The stay was great. the staff/support was amazing. Everyhing was as expected.

The location is great. Really close to main street where you can find restaurants, coffee shops and cute stores. The staff were very kind and always smiley. The room was fabulous - especially the bathroom with an outdoor shower.
The breakfast was for us personally not so good. You can choose one meal (usually eggs) and one drink. If you want coffee like capuccino or caffee latte you pay extra. It was a bit tasteless and every meal was pretty similar to other.

Perfection! This was our second stay. Very peaceful & chilled. The staff so friendly & helpful. The pool in our villa was heaven to come back to after being out exploring in the heat. The outdoor area was very spacious & great for relaxing. Great variety for breakfast, and all meals were delicious. Location is also perfect for us, just outside main town of busyness but lots of warungs & places to eat close by.
Absolutely nothing

- The location is nice, though it's in the small and narrow alley, they have the buggy car and can pick you up from the pick up point with no problem.
- The staff are very nice and friendly, including the cat and dog they're so lovely.
- The villa that we were staying is beautiful and enough for two persons, bath tub and bathroom is great.
- The air conditioner in the room was warm, not producing enough cold air as it should be.
- The hairdryer has a very low airflow even though it was on the highest air flow mode (I have a very short hair and still find it hard to dry my hair)

The meals were delicious. The coffee was excellent as was the pineapple juices freshly made. It was nice that breakfast lunch and dinner were available.
Some of the lights in the bedroom weren’t working , so we only had bright lights above the bed which were too bright.

The room and the pool area was absolutely stunning. I loved the bathroom design, and sound insulation between rooms are generally quite good. The staff is also extremely friendly, which really made the overall experience great
A bit of practical information about the location and therefore the transport situation: the google maps location is NOT actually where the hotel is (look for Hastina by Alam Wayang Ubud on google maps for the actual location). Where the hotel actually is is not accessible by car, and while motorbikes can get there the location is quite hard to find on the map that motorbikes often get confused, and also it is a big detour to get back onto the main road, so we were rarely able to get transportation directly from the hotel entrance. The hotel offers buggie pick up at the google maps location, so you can do that and then travel to/from the drop off point, or we actually found it best to walk down to the bottom of the Penestanan Stairs (2-3min walk from hotel) and get a grab from there whenever we needed to travel. Although the steps are quite steep, so if you have mobility issues I would not recommend that. Also the traffic from there into central ubud is constantly VERY BAD, so it ends up taking a lot more time than you think it does to get into town. So overall, it is slightly annoying that there is just no straightforward transport options and it often took quite a long time to get to places in and around Ubud
Also just a note that because the bathrooms are semi-open air, it is quite easy to get a few insects and bugs around the room (this is all understandable given we are in the jungles in Ubud but just a note that this comes with the outdoor bathroom design). Another small thing is that the bathroom doors are not fully opaque with no curtains / blinds, so in the morning the room is quite bright

The location was extremely quiet and close to a few restaurants and cafes
Limted sunbeds around the pool that get sun on them all day.
Having to ask staff for a water refill.

Traditional Balinese rooms/resort
Overall friendly and helpful staff
Location was PERFECT as it is a short walk to Alchemy and lots of great cafes, 15 minute walk into central Ubud
The communication was a bit difficult with some of the staff and the food service was a bit unorganised at times. The staff were friendly but I do think they could level up on their service in some areas, the main receptionist seemed like she didn't want to be there. The rooms did have a musky smell but were clean, I guess that's common in older resorts in hot & humid environments. Overall I wasn't blown away by anything unfortunately!

Property was lovely, very authentic feel with a touch of luxury. Staff were amazing. Food & drink was great value for money. Hot stone massage was divine!
Property was a taxi journey away from the main buzz of Ubud, but with grab taxis on hand no real hardship.

You can’t drive up to the hotel have to get a buggy which is pretty long. If you walk down to the hotel it’s pretty long and steep

Stay at Villa Alam Wayang Ubud was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I've arrived, the staff welcomed me with warm smiles, refreshing drink, and impeccable hospitality. The villa was tucked away in a peaceful, lush jungle setting, yet only a 10-minute drive from central Ubud – the perfect balance of nature and convenience.
The lush garden was a dream! Every morning I woke up to the sound of birds and enjoyed breakfast in the hotel's terrace admiring the surroundings.
The room was beautifully designed – clean, spacious, and filled with natural light, yet giving you privacy when needed. The outdoor bathroom with a rain shower was a unique and luxurious touch.
If you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat in Ubud, I can't recommend Alam Wayang enough. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning my next visit!
It wasn't an inconvenience for me personally but keep in mind there is no direct access to the hotel by car. If you are arriving by taxi, you will be drop off at the so called "Cafe Alam Wayang" where a buggy will pick you up and bring you to the hotel. It's a literally 2 minutes ride in the middle of a beautiful forest and the service is available 24/7 (if buggy with a driver is not there you can call the reception and someone from the hotel will come to pick you up within few minutes).

The outdoors including private pool & the tropical plantation was extremely beautiful. Service was 10/10 by everyone & special thanks to Vira.
To get out of the bedroom to get water from living room was inconvenient (maybe a flask / or bottle can be provided which can be filled up & kept on the side table).

I loved the staff! They were really welcoming from the moment we got there. We got a welcome drink. Our room wasn’t ready but we went for a walk to the Ubud art market which is a 10-15 min walk. Our room was really nice, I loved the openness. You may find some lizards and ants here and there. But it was okay. Nothing harmful.
The massage ladies are wonderful! Really recommend getting the traditional Balinese massage.
The only hassle we found was the location being a far bit of walk from the main area. But I think this was also a plus point because we heard no traffic or tourists during our stay. It was very peaceful.

Loved everything about the place, the staff were amazing and organised things for me when I asked. The food and drinks were brilliant.
I didn't like how far this place was from everything else. To get dinner in Ubud I had to get a taxi.

The staff were lovely and the room was very clean. Breakfast was delicious too!
The rooms were a lot smaller than they looked online and the pool didn’t get much sun. All in all there were only c.6 sunbeds. The location is ok but it is quite a way away from the centre of Ubud (c.20 minute walk) and you probably wouldn’t want to walk there in the dark as it is not well lit at all.
