It's a nice and cosy small apartment on the ground floor (somehow we assumed from the pictures that it would be the rooftop appartment). Nice furniture, enought space. The lady on the spot whom we eventually managed to contact was friendly (unlike the automated messsages). Some restaurants, the bakery and shop are very close.
The (probably automated) messages sounded a bit like police interrogation and we received no answers to our messages. Although we sent our arrival information, the lady there seemed surprised when we called once we had arrived at the house. The occasional motorcycles passing by next to the balcony are rather loud and when the balcony door is open then on some days we had a cloud of diesel fumes constantly in the room (likely this is better upstairs). I had to use a head torch to read in bed (my mistake of course that I like to read before going to sleep).

The apartment was beautiful and really comfortable. It was a stylish looking space located just moments away from the port of Megalochori and a couple of good places to eat. This village is a much cuter place to stay than Skala in my opinion, it's much quieter and really gives the feeling of city life being far away. I wish we had booked to stay a bit longer here! The bed was comfortable and there is a fully equipped kitchen - we ate out but it is nice to have, especially if you were staying longer and wanted to save money by cooking. There's a little outside space to sit where you can see the sea which is very sweet. Overall I think it's a great place to stay and would recommend it, with a few caveats.
There were a couple of things that could have improved the stay. Firstly, the check in process was really confusing. I was sent a very long list of rules and warnings, including one point saying that there would be an inspection after my stay and the cost of any damages the host found would be pursued through a lawsuit. It was not the most friendly opening message (I have stayed in about 30 countries around Europe at this point and never received such a long list before arrival). I informed the host I would check in between 3 and 4pm. It was hard to find the place as there is no sign or even a name on the door, and also the host was not there. I called and the host seemed a bit surprised I was there, but someone did arrive quickly with keys for us. I took photos of everything and told the host I had done this so she could have them for when she did the inspection afterwards. She asked me to send the photos to her but then seemed a little offended (this might just be tone, but my friend who was with me did agree). I let her I had only done this so she could compare it during her inspection afterwards, to which she told me this was not her policy but Booking.com's (in which case, why was this the only booking I made in Greece that came with the list of rules and warnings?) So that was a little bit of a strange experience. Basically, adding a sign to the door and making the check in process easier and more friendly would help. This might mean planning a time to meet at the apartment. The list of rules could also be printed and given at check in. Just as a side note, the shower does need a door as water goes everywhere, and it would have been nice to get some shower gel. These were all just minor points however, I want to repeat that the place is really lovely!
