Host Jane was exceptional she provided milk, bread, butter and a delicious cake. Property was very quiet and comfortable. Host was about if needed but unobtrusive and very friendly. I would say 5 star at a 4 star price.

Probably the best equipped holiday home we have stayed in. The host seems to have thought of every requirement, and everything is high quality. The location is perfect for a base to visit the sites the surrounding area has to offer, and there are two good pubs nearby, both serving good food. One is walkable, and the other a five minute drive. Our host was quick to communicate, and was on hand to support any needs during our stay. Thoroughly recommended if you are looking accommodation in this lovely part of Somerset.

Absolutely wonderful property. Large, beautifully furnished, fantastically equipped (the owner has thought of everything you'd ever need in a holiday property - and more), great kitchen, very comfortable beds, brilliant private outside space, very nice bathroom. Very quiet location and near lovely coastline and easy walking to the beautiful Quantock Hills. The owner supplied a cake, which was a lovely touch. If it's available for our future trips in that area, we will definitely go back.
Nothing to dislike - it is just so good.

We highly recommend booking this cottage. The host is exceptionally helpful and welcoming, it’s very clean and has everything you could possibly need and more!! It’s decorated beautifully and everything is very high quality. Our dog was made as welcome as we were. The cottage is situated in a beautiful village and is a great base to explore Somerset. The best part was the homemade cake which was amazing with a cup of tea after the journey. Thank you we will definitely return 😊
Nothing at all.

Its a great little place, very peaceful, lovely location.
The host was super helpful.
It was a great touch to have some basic food items available on arrival, plus a lovely cake. That was really helpful.
Luckily I took along an extra duvet just in case it was cold and I needed it, not because it was cold but because my husband is a duvet thief! So extra duvet or covers could be helpful for someone else too perhaps.
We learned about how induction hobs worked which was something we didn't know. Always learning!

The host Jane was very accommodating. All the cottage was clean and fitted with modern equipment and the welcome pack was extensive. We had a problem at home so we were one day late in arriving. Jane suggested that as she had no one coming after the end of our stay we could stay for an extra day. I thought this was going the extra mile for us. One of the best places we have stayed at and we have stayed at a lot. If you are thinking of staying in this area look up Jane you will not be disappointed.

The cottage is perfectly situated for walking in the Quantocks. It is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. we found the stay extremely comfortable and wanted for nothing. The host was there to meet us, helped us with things in the area, offers cooked meals and generally made us feel very welcome.
I can't think of anything that needed to be different.

Barton Cottage is a beautifully appointed single storey barn conversion. Very comfortable double beds in the 2 bedrooms & every thing you could wish for in the kitchen/sitting room. Newly refurbished I think & done to a high standard.
Don't be put off by the farm track that leads to the hidden away gem!

Was practically a home from home. Had everything you need, and the facilities provided were very considerate.
Alexa was confused between living room and bedroom, and the remote ceiling lights in the bedroom were a little confusing.

Jane & Rob were wonderful hosts, happy to help us with any information. We were delighted with our welcome provisions and the abundant essentials like coffee, tea, milk, bread, clingfilm, kitchen roll
butter etc. Very peaceful grounds in excellent location for a walk to The Plough (good food).
Very high quality beds & bedding, kitchen and bathroom.
We would have preferred 2 toilets and it was difficult to stop the bathroom floor from getting wet with the shower use. Probably our fault!!!

Great accommodation. Cake and prosecco was provided as a welcome treat. The accommodation was very comfortable and very well equipped. The quantocks and woodland are beautiful and local beaches great for interesting geology and fossils.
There was nothing at all to complain about (apart from a bit of rain, but even that didn't spoil things).

A beautifully appointed cottage. The host was a delight and extremely helpful and friendly. She had left a couple of wonderful welcome surprises. It has fantastic furniture and facilities. A wonderful place that is much much more than a "base". Excellent and great value given the extremely high standard of EVERYTHING
There was nothing whatsoever to criticise.

My wife, daughter, niece and I rented Barton Cottage, a lovely two-bedroom converted farm building on the edge of Holford Village, over the Queen's Jubilee week in early June 2022. We were met on arrival by Jane, the owner, who gave us the keys and showed us round the property, which was spotless and very well appointed. The two bedrooms had comfortable double beds, plenty of storage space and flat screen TVs. The kitchen had all the essential appliances and cooking utensils and more, and we were able to prepare our breakfasts and cook suppers in the evenings after days out walking and cycling in the countryside (when not out enjoying some local great pubs in the area). We used the cottage as our base for exploring the beautiful Quantock Hills and lovely neary local villages, including Holfrod itself. It was an idyllic setting with horses and ponies in the nearby fields and a wonderful host. Highly recommended!
It would have been great to have one more armchair in the living room to go with the comfortable sofa and chair that are there. With four of us, we would have liked a little more room to spread out after a day of walking. But this is a minor quibble.

The property was beautiful, good quality throughout with everything thought of to make a relaxing and easy stay. Jane was a fantastic host, we couldn't have asked for more. The meals offered were delicious and many thoughtful touches throughout the stay. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the property and Jane as a host, to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing respite, with plenty of things to do in the surrounding area.

Very tastefully decorated throughout. Well equipped kitchen. Top quality furnishings and Jane was a very gracious host. The welcome pack was fabulous and very generous 👌
Bit exposed by the window in the hallway just by the bathroom, as it's on ground level and cars were parked outside.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage and garden are both extremely well equipped. Jane and Rob have thought of everything! Extremely comfortable and everything top quality, the bed was so comfy! It was very dog safe, the garden was totally secure. Astra loved the field down the lane and spent ages racing around. Would definitely return, maybe in the warmer months next time. Thank you for a perfect holiday.
