Very nice hotel, welcoming staff, comfortable rooms and an excellent menu.

Room was very nice, food was exceptional. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The setting is marvellous close to some spectacular locations in & around The Quantocks.

overall most enjoyable - my specific comments are to elevate the hotel's offering

Continental breakfast was fine; but disappointed they ran out of croissants on one day. I also don't understand why white / brown bread is standard sliced loaf rather than a higher quality bread - even if establishment slices it

electric showers over bath which mean you have to stand right in corner to get a shower. surely a plumber can put a frame to get the shower head over the bath or even better use a rain shower

A peaceful stay in a very nice hotel.

A lovely old property in a beautiful, tranquil location. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Delicious evening meal and a good choice of wines.

The temperature of the electric shower was tricky to control and the pressure was low. A shame there are extra charges for the internet password and also for a cooked breakfast - these are usually included in the price of most hotel rooms.

When we go walking in the Quantocks again we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Location was excellent, staff friendly, dinner was great.

Room a bit chilly (there was a plug in heater to use and then it was fine)and the breakfast included in the price only covered continental, £10 surcharge for cooked breakfast which we were a little disappointed about.

Nice atmospheric stay with some good pubs a short drive away.

Nice quiet location, friendly staff, good continental breakfast and a nice atmosphere with the wood stove.

First room (17) had a very noisy kitchen/heating fan that went on all night so requested a room change which was done without question.

Larger plates! I was up and down those steps like a yo-yo. My husband had to sit with the dog, so I was back and forth. It was fine though, just a small niggle.

Excellent choice of dishes for breakfast. All beautifully cooked using good quality produce. The hotel is situated in a fantastic location with direct access to the forest for walking, ideal if you are travelling with dogs. All the staff were very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome with a lovely relaxing feel to the place. A little gem!!

The evening meal was beautifully cooked but if you were staying for more than a couple of nights the choice could be a little limited, especially if you are not keen on fish dishes. An extra meat dish on the specials board would be appreciated.

Good continental breakfast selection, good strong tea. Dinner was excellent. Location is beautiful and peaceful. Easy parking. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Mattress a little hard for us. Prefer the option of hand held shower head. Room 19 smelt somewhat musty but lovely to be ground floor with own entrance and conservatory.

Location was beautiful, if a little remote. Sunday dinner was smashing!

The included breakfast wasn't fantastic, but it was enough. Would have been nice if cooked breakfast was also included, that shocked me.
