Colom Apartments

Owner was kind and apartment clean/comfortable//cared for. We liked the location (Gothic Quarter & in Placa Reiel) 10-15 min walk beachfront it is near the Liceu metro stop, lively, & has lots of dining/shops nearby. Balconies are sitable to ppl watch. Secure place to stay-never felt worried.

We liked our stay, however, La Rablas street is under construction so lots of construction noise all day and the middle boulevard is fenced off a lot. The staircase is circular and quite narrow and apartment is 4 floors up- good workout😁 The bathroom is small, but good water pressure/temps.

Fantastic location and close to public transport. Light and airy apartment and very well appointed.

That you had a very narrow stairway to climb to the first floor where the elevator started.

Great location, literally metres from Plaça Reial and many other attractions, restaurants etc. Apartment is very spacious and well maintained with all the necessary amenities. The double glaze balcony doors and wooden shutters significantly reduce the 24/7 street noise (currently elevated by the construction on La Rambla) and the large comfortable bed made for easy sleeping. If you are a light sleeper earplugs should cut out the rest of the residue noise. The host was very helpful and accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent it again.

‘Didn’t like’ is too strong but just for information to consider, the description suggests there living area and bedroom are seperate, the bed, lounge TV and dining area are all in he same big room with a separate kitchen and bathroom so effectively a large studio apartment with a separate kitchen. If you have mobility issues there is a fight of curved stairs to navigate from the front door before the elevator on the landing. Nothing major that detracted from us enjoying our stay but something to consider.

Close to las ramblas

The noise all night was horrendous. Couldn’t sleep at all. The curtains don’t block out the light which doesn’t allow you to sleep in. The description of the apartment says there is a lift but that’s only after you have to climb 30 steps to get to it. I’ve just had a knee operation so climbing and going down those stairs carrying suitcases was an ordeal.
