Charming hotel in a nice little town
Its a small hotel on the main road of Retie, what is a little town. We were looking for a place to stay for new years eve with less fireworks, it worked. The hotel is really nice, very charming, we had a huge bathroom with bathtub and a comfortable bed in a nice size room.

Very good breakfast; perfect location for the Grasspop festival, beautiful garden, good parking lot and close to supermarket and banks.
The bathroom is not separeded from the room itself, so there is no adequated ventilation and privacy, Room is also very dusty,

Beautiful home with a few details in need of a little more care given the price of the room.

Balcony off the bedroom was not well kept especially in comparison to the rest of the property… flowerbeds dead/empty and a cement bucket in the corner. The door to the balcony was very difficult to open and the ‘kiepstand’ was broken. Cobwebs around the lamps upstairs. The staircase to the bedroom are very steep and the stairs slightly slanted - hold into the railing tightly.

Beautiful historical hotel to explore the Turnhout area.
The building itself especially the dining/breakfast room was specular. The view on the garden was excellent with the beautiful Pastorie building and the friendliness of the people at the hotel.

Voor herhaling vatbaar!!
Ik ben maar van geel , maar moest in Retie naar een vat, en drinken en autorijden gaat niet meer samen. Ik vond het ook geweldig dat ik s’anderendaags gewoon mocht blijven slapen tot half 2. Ik had een kater en was een beetje depressief.
Ik vond het wel vervelend dat er niemand was toen ik daar aankwam, maar vrij vlug kwam er iemand om mij binnen te laten

Teleurstellend
Het is een mooi pand en de eigenaresse is heel vriendelijk. Het is kleinschalig en dat is prettig als je de drukte wilt ontwijken.
Ik schrok best erg, want op het oog was het een hele mooie ruimte tot ik langer binnen in de kamer was. Er was een enorm groot lieveheers(vrouwen)nestje(s) aanwezig in de binnenkant van het kozijn. Later bij het andere kozijn ook een nest, maar iets kleiner. Het was schrikken, even later daalde ze neer op het bed. En zelfs in de badkamer( twee ruimtes verder) trof ik ze aan. Ik was alleen met honden, wat het lastiger maakte. En ook nog eens op oudjaar. S'avonds kan je niet veel nog doen. (Alle andere kamers zaten vol en dichtbij was er ook niets) Ik baalde er echt van. Want ik kwam echt om te ontspannen. Ik heb gekozen om de eigenaresse dit toch te laten weten en die reageerde snel en kwam direct langs. Met een spuitbus. En een kleine vergoeding om dit te compenseren. De spuitbus wilde ik niet want ik zag al aan de hoeveelheid dat dit niet zo gemakkelijk op te lossen was. Ook met de dieren, in andere ruimte doen? Veel onrust voor hun, en ik koos juist weg te gaan met hun, voor de rust (vuurwerk etc) Heel heel jammer vond ik dit, want nogmaals op het oog was het een hele mooie ruimte.(Kamer 6) Ik hoop dat ik pech had met de kamer en ga er vanuit dat de andere kamers wel in orde waren:) Ook was deze kamer ontzettend fris! Met de verwarming kreeg ik het niet op een aangename temperatuur. En s'nachts had ik het echt koud in bed. In alle eerlijkheid zou ik deze kamer nooit verhuren in deze staat. En als ik alleen was, was ik weggegaan. Op de foto's is wat te zien. Kan er maar vier uploaden. Ook zodat je ziet dat ze op meerdere plekken te vinden waren.
