Endican Sultanahmet Hotel

There are numerous options in this part of Istanbul, but if you are looking for a decent accommodation on a budget you can’t go wrong with this hotel. The location is exceptional (a few minutes from the tram stop) and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also let me check in early upon arrival, which was much appreciated after a long, overnight flight. Thanks, gentlemen!

Stayed in this hotel for slightly more than a week. It’s the cleanest hotel (including the toilet!) we’ve had in turkey. Kudos to housekeeping (lovely friendly lady)! The staff at the front desk were simply awesome and extremely friendly (especially Ali!). Thank you for making our troubled trip better with your hotel’s hospitality! Also worthy to mention that the hotel is located within walking distance to the grand bazaar and the main historical sites like Sultanahmet. Plenty of food choices around too. Highly recommend.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Turkey with my girlfriend, and I have to say, the experience was a mixed bag. Here’s my breakdown: Pros: Comfortable beds, which is always a plus after a long day. Very clean washroom—thank you, housekeeping! Good location: Easy access to local attractions and transit. Cons: BASEMENT ROOM SURPRISE: We arrived to find our room was in the basement! Not mentioned anywhere during booking on Agoda.com. I felt like I was on a reality show where the prize is a basement room—definitely not what I signed up for! Upgrade Fees: We had to pay an additional €20 per night to escape the dungeon. The manager insisted it’s normally €30. Wow thanks, what a steal! It should really be zero euros since we didn’t book a basement room in the first place! Deceptive Practices: The front desk manager admitted this happens all the time, which felt almost deliberate. If you know this is an issue, why not fix it? If you don’t want to sell through Agoda, then delist yourself! Poor Customer Service: The manager took zero responsibility. After an hour on the phone with Agoda, I felt like I was in a never-ending blame game. Seriously, someone needs to step up! Karen Encounter: To top it off, we had an Australian “Karen” involve herself in our situation. Watch out for that infestation! Final Thoughts: We insisted they take action to prevent this from happening to future guests. Hopefully, they will make the necessary adjustments. If it weren’t for people like me being adamant, who knows how many more would have endured this nonsense? While the room was clean, and the beds comfy, the deceptive practices and lack of accountability left a sour taste. Do extra homework before booking and confirm your room type directly with the hotel to avoid B.S surprises!
