Overpriced Apartment

The apartment is very close to the centre, which was nice. The room was luxury, but also kind of a dissappointment.

We booked an apartment with seaview, but ended up in a dark attic apartment, which was hot and stuffy despite the air conditioning. The seaview was disappointing. One window was broken and could not be closed and there was no toilet paper. You couldn't really use the communal terrace because the air conditioning was incredibly loud..

Charming stay

Our accommodation in Risan was spotless with fantastic communal areas that made relaxing a real pleasure. The kitchenette in our unit was small but perfectly adequate, and the larger communal kitchen was ideal for preparing meals. The beds are very comfortable. The pool was a true highlight—absolutely fabulous, especially when lit up at night, creating a lovely atmosphere. The location couldn’t be better: right on the oldest street in Montenegro, full of charm and history. Getting around was easy with a bus stop right at the end of the street, providing quick access to other nearby towns and attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive, always ready to help. If you prefer a quieter, less touristy experience than nearby Kotor, Risan is the perfect choice—peaceful, authentic, and utterly delightful.

Be mindful its a narrow street driving upto the accommodation. Nothing negative it was all fabulous.

Probably the best place to stay in Risan

Absolutely beautiful place, quiet but with direct access to restaurants, Ice Cream and the Beach. It’s got a great little pool and a Terrace with view of the Mountains and Bay. The Host Natasa speaks good English and together with her daughter they made my stay exceptional. Great Breakfast and a lovely airy spacious room with everything I could have wanted.

Peaceful location but close to all local amenities. The pool and communal areas were fabulous and luckily not overused by others.

Beds a little bit firm for our liking and no air-conditioning in bedrooms, although that's OK if you sleep with bedroom doors open.

Amazing stay in the castle

The apartment is amazing! We lived like in the castle, design was nice, cosy and room was very clean, bed was big and comfy. House had very nice garden with private pool, lounge area. The host was very friendly and sincere. It is abosulutely worth money and more! Free big parking is next to the place, city center and beach 3 min by walking. City is small, but very nice and near Perast, Kotor or over Kotor bay villages/cities.

not really self catering to cook a big meal! can use outside facilities and has a fridge but only one pot meals really! paying! we kept asking we could pay and they kept saying it’s all fine! on the last day we were asked to pay a bank transfer. as this was an international transfer we could not do it on our banking app. we paid when we got home but it felt dodgy! it was sent to a random account that would not accept our payment and now the money is being held in a deutch account somewhere and Gabella won’t return any messages to sort the payment out.

Beautiful clean room with lots of personality--really looked like the photos online. Loved the ambiance of the pool area, and the terrace was a great place to end the day. Staff was excellent!

Very clean, the pool is amazing. Really nice and private because it's shared between only a few others and gets great afternoon sun. Parking just out the front- quite a narrow road up to the apartment but we managed okay in a fairly big car. Very easy communication with host throughout and we even got some local cakes at the end of our stay!

Only improvements we can think of are air con in the bedroom rather than just the dining area and some kind of insect repellent!

Kotor bay is very beautiful. The location is well placed for visits to the attractions sbd close enough to go to Dubrovn

The villa is beautiful with lovely tended plants and a very clean, welcoming pool and terrace area. The apartment itself is compact and nicely furnished with a very small kitchen enclosed in a cupboard which is adequate for basic breakfast etc but you would struggle to make a main meal. Natasha is an extremely helpful, efficient and courteous manager of the property. We were there early in the season and were very lucky to have the entire pool and terrace area to ourselves for almost 2 weeks , but it must be very busy with all 8 apartments occupied. Guyo the local taxi driver is very helpful and doesn’t overcharge and if you want to go to Perast for dinner you can call him and he’ll come and pick you up. The local supermarket Aroma is cheap and reasonably well stocked. The bakery at the bottom of the hill sells lovely pastries.

The villa is opposite the communal bins so outside of the villa is not great. however once inside the villa it is a haven of peace and tranquility. The ‘kitchen’ is very small. There was a lack of mirrors but Natasha is sorting that.

Great location for a quiet stay in Kotor Bay

Great location for a quiet stay in Kotor Bay. Risan is a small ancient town, so don't expect too much to do there. The beach is nearby and is very nice. You can also drink coffee and buy products in the nearest cafes and markets. Recommend visiting Portonovi, Herceg Novi, Kotor old town (take the boat tour to the blue cave). Svetlana is a very pleasant host, helped us with everything we needed. The room for the three of us was nice, not so spacious, but well equipped.

Highly recommend!

The property is absolutely great! We spended 11 amazing nights there and have to tell this is a perfect place for a long stay: it's clean, safe and cozy, apartments and villa theritory are well organized, have awesome authentic design and decoration. Each room has everything needed on high quality: kitchen stuff (from cooking to serving), fridge and washer; large comfortable bad, windows and balconies with nice view, smart places to keep everything. Sheets, pillows and towels are fresh and high quality. Villa also contains nice outdoor areas like pool with chairs, open kitchen, therasse. Pool refreshed each day. Located on a comfortable distance from sea side, just couple minutes walk by nice historical street. Villa owners are extremely good and caring people, speak english and keep in touch in messengers. Villa also has good wifi so we were able to work online couple days. Absolutely recommended and will come back to Risan and villa Gabela again!

Clean, spacious, modern and welcoming

This place exceeded my expectations. The apartment we got was spacious and had everything we needed - a very, very comfortable bed, clean bathroom, a little kitchenette with a sink, a water heater and an induction stove + kitchen essentials like silverware, dishes, glasses a pot and a pan, as well as a quite large closet. There were extra pillows and duvet covers, a safe and hangers in the closet. I also liked how they changed our sheets and covers halfway through our 7-day stay. Everyone was very nice and helpful, the manager welcomed us a few minutes after we arrived (on a Sunday) and she was readily available on Viber for any questions and concerns. Risan is not a big city, so everything is nearby. There were a few restaurants, markets and beaches that we got to enjoy by only walking a few minutes.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that we didn't book it for a longer stay! :D I would have loved staying here a bit more and enjoying the cute little pool in the yard.
