Totally impractical.
We liked location.Not far from family.
* Double bed upstairs via a spiral staircase in kitchen which you kept hitting your head on.
* Unable to carry suitcase upstairs to bedroom as spiral staircase too narrow to accommodate this.
* Upper bedroom was freezing! NO upstairs Central Heating, just small electric panel heater which was totally in adequate for size of bedroom. As bedroom was a loft conversion it it had no loft insulation. Tonight was frosty and -4 degrees outside.When you opened a door in the wall near the bed you could see the eaves of the house,this is how I noticed there was no insulation.
My husband and I ended up sleeping downstairs in the living room on a most uncomfortable bed settee for 2 weeks. I now have a sore back and he has a painful hip
The cottage had Central heating but we couldn't adjust it we had to ask the owner.There was 2 extra electric heaters which we had to use to keep the property warm.
* NO Double Glazing, wooden windows rotten, with paint flaking off.The Radiators were also rusty with paint flaking and signs of previous leakage.
* Bathroom sink ,loose ,not attached to wall properly, NO shaving mirror, a small detail but necessary in a bathroom. There was a mirror but totally useless on the opposite wall to the sink! Cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling.
* The Kitchen basic...It had a dishwasher ,washing machine which all worked, when I went to use the microwave and open the door the bottom of the handle fell off.
As we were staying for 2 weeks my intentions were to cook our meals most nights.Starting with a pan of soup.All there was were 2 small pans and an old small scratched frying pan not fit for purpose. Very poorly equipped ,definitely not fit for self catering. I noticed one review said they had prepared a lovely Christmas dinner for everyone. Well I don't know how with just a 1 litre &2 litre saucepan respectively.!!!
The whole experience was terrible, I had picked the cottage to visit our family and was so disappointed.

Charming and elegant, perfect getaway cottage
The cottage is very charming and only a 10 minute walk away from Dunblane, where you can get a train to Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Perfect for a tourist like myself on a budget. 3 months later and my partner still talks about how good the bath was at the property.
The hosts provided free mint jelly and sloe gin from the estate which was delicious. They were very friendly and always made sure to say hello or good morning with a smile when we saw them as we were leaving the estate for the day.
Quite treacherous walking back to in the dark as you have to walk along a main road.

Very narrow spiral staircase to bedroom on upper level difficult for elderly or disabled to negotiate or to take luggage upstairs. Bathroom on lower level only.

Everything. The location is beautiful, quiet and conveniently situated and the cottage is clean, comfy and very well equipped. The owners live very nearby and they were very welcoming.
There really isn’t anything that we disliked. I suppose the spiral staircase could be a bit daunting if you are unsteady on your feet but otherwise it is an attractive feature. Also, it is clearly shown on the photographs, so there is no justification for any complaints!

Most comfortable place I have ever stayed - highly recommended.
Exceptional cottage on a private country estate. Quiet location. Walking trails around the estate. Very convenient location for me, just outside Dunblane - easy to get to lots of tourist sites from this central location. Fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed (and a sofa bed), lounge. A perfect week.

Charming cottage on a beautiful estate with proximity to 3 idyllic small towns.
Maisie’s cottage is part of an absolutely beautiful estate. The owners are delightful, welcomed us and we knew they were there if we needed anything but left us to our privacy. Just perfect. The gentle walk to the river on the estate and the lovely surroundings will remain a cherished memory. Plus this is a great location with proximity to Dunblane, Bridge of Allan and Stirling. We adored all three.

Very clean, comfortable, compact cottage on a beautiful estate. Interesting local area to explore and private patio area for BBQ.
No complaints!
Narrow spiral staircase might be a challenge for some and is not suitable for small children.
Boots or wellies would be useful for walking in adjacent woodland.

Die Lage ist super schön, einsam, ruhig aber man ist in wenigen Minuten in allen Richtungen unterwegs und auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nur ein paar Min. entfernt.
Ich habe es sehr genossen, man hört nur die Vögel zwitschern und den Bach rauschen..... ab und an mal den Zug...
Ich wurde herzlich begrüßt von Susan und Patrick, den Eigentümern. Lieben Dank, dass ihr euer kleines Paradies mit uns teilt.... ich komme sehr gerne wieder...
