Designed by Donald Wexler, father of “desert modern” architecture, Casa Tranquillo -- once featured on HGTV -- sits at the base of the San Jacinto mountains in The Mesa, a historic neighborhood 5 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. A showcase of Wexler’s signature butterfly roof style, the home’s swimming pool also mirrors the distinctive shape.

Landscaped with soaring palm trees, a ficus privacy wall and a lush side lawn with a lemon tree, the newly renovated home has kept the integrity of the Wexler design with modern updates, including tanning ledges and water features in the swimming pool.

The sprawling backyard, which also has a hot tub, fire pit and 6-seat dining area with a BBQ grill, is ideal for small gatherings. Stroll along flagstone patios, soak up the famed Palm Springs sun on chaise lounge chairs, or enjoy a drink at the shaded patio table with close-up mountain views.

This sunny room has a private, poolside entrance to the patio, a wall-mounted TV, two dressing ottomans, and a comfy armchair. The en-suite bathroom has dual sinks and a step-in rain shower.

This spacious guest primary has a private entrance to the patio with a two-seat breakfast table outside, a TV atop a mid-century style dresser, a full-length mirror, and a jack and jill bathroom with a glass shower.

Bedroom 3
Queen Bed
This cozy room has a stone accent wall and sitting area with a lounge chair. A TV sits atop a tall hardwood dresser. This bedroom shares a bathroom with bedroom two.

Bedroom 4

This room has a private entrance to the patio, with a sitting area just outside. Guests also have a full dresser, dressing bench and twin nightstands.

Bedroom 5
Queen Murphy Bed
Ideal for guests who must balance work and leisure, this room has an office area with a large desk and printer. Guests also enjoy a private entrance to the patio and an en-suite bathroom with dual sinks and a glass shower shared with bedroom four.
