The cottage is really cosy. We were a group almost 50yr old friends meeting for our annual catch up. The downstairs area was perfect.
Kitchen was equipped well enough for us to cook our own meals.
Beds were comfy and all linens clean and fresh.
The cottage was perfectly warm on a miserable few days of weather.
Free WiFi is always helpful but its also not a signal blackspot for data.
Alex was very communicative and responsive.
The location is perfect. We had 3 cars between us so one was in the car park. We used the app for paying so could renew the ticket without heading back to the car.
Booths accross the car park excellent for supplies or little Tesco further down Stricklandgate. Who doesnt love Booths though? Amazing cafe too
We didnt have any traffic or traffic noise problems. Its a tucked away lane thats only route is to the car park.
Very few but having dropped something under the bed there was some rubbish under one of them.
We were self catering so extra bin bags or a bigger kitchen bin and a couple of dishwasher tablets would have been great.
There may be one but we couldn't find an info pack for the likes of the waste separation position for the bins.
Bath was broken but this was communicated to us.
We would have welcomed extra pillows but as I say nothing that would be a deal breaker for us.

Fantastic Location
Very comfortable
Bath didn’t work, shower was blocked and had to plunge. No welcome pack. Dirty plates and cups. Had to re wash

Comfortable beds, clean towels. Good central location with free parking
No welcome pack or any instruction sheet for tv, appliances or heating.
No plugs for sink or Bathtub.
Cutlery and pans had to be washed before use and general cleanliness was poor by todays standards

The location was excellent!
No tea, coffee, milk, shower basics (gel/soaps) - this would have been a nice and welcoming touch.
Double bed in small room could be rearranged so that the door can open fully.

The property was situated in a great little town that was in a good central location for getting around the Lakes area. On the whole the house was clean and tidy and had all the things you would need in a home for a family . The hosts were great from start to finish and when we did come up against a problem ( accidentally locking ourselves out which was completely our own fault, they were quick to respond and we were back in the property within 10 minutes). It was located right next to a super market and town which were accessed within a couple of minutes and having a designated, private parking space was fantastic. Thank you for our visit
A few things that I think families with small children should be made aware of before visiting ( we had a 5 year old and 2 year old with us ). The house is situated right on a main road which is a public car park and was very busy with cars driving quite fast ( absolutely nothing the hosts can do about that we are just making people aware). The property it’s self is quite old so parts of the floor are very uneven ( which again can’t be helped) however the upstairs windows open fully and although they had keys we did not manage to lock them. The second floor staircase has no bannister to the left hand side and quite a big gap with no spindles big enough for our two year old to nearly fall through. I think that is definitely something that needs addressing soon, the only other niggle was the second floor shower room has no lock at all on the door, even a cheap hook or bolt would be preferable to nothing saving people from embarrassment or worry of embarrassment.

Amazing location. We did dinner at the Fleece and breakfast at Booth's as recommended. Both are within walking distance. Booth's cafe is just across the street. The full English is just under £10. The coffee was very good. Also did the recommended Tarn Hows walk which is a 16 mile drive from the house - it took us 40 mins with the Windermere traffic.
Unfortunately, I didn't realise (and didn't see it mentioned in any of the other reviews) that there would be no tea, coffee, sugar or a bit of milk available on arrival for that much needed, post-drive brew. As we were only staying for one night, and planned to eat out for all our meals, we didn't think to bring those essentials with us. Our fault entirely, but would've been very welcomed after our long drive. Luckily, the shops are very close by so we were able to sort ourselves out without too much bother. Also, there's no body wash/shower gel or shampoo provided so make sure to bring your own as well.

Location is absolutely amazing - right in town close to shops, restaurants etc. but still quiet and peaceful
Allocated parking is very good as parking in town is expensive
Host gave helpful, detailed info about the area and how to get to the property and communicated well on check out day
Lots of space in the house and everything in good working order. Having 2 bathrooms is a massive bonus too!
Characterful cottage
Good free WiFi
Surface clean but dust and cobwebs in corners
Bit cluttered and dark decor for my personal taste but this just my preference

The house was a beautiful townhouse in a perfect location. The hosts were very informative on their welcome message and everything was in perfect order. Everyone in our party had a wonderful stay and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a trip to the Lake District.

Comfortable, clean, cosy and in an excellent location in the town centre, with parking right outside the door. 2 bathrooms very handy!
Nit picking really, but the fridge door opens the wrong way making it awkward to get into. Couldn't make much sense of the 'smart' TV! Could do with a few more teaspoons...! One of the showers needs discoloured sealing re-done.

Lovely cottage fully equipped for a self catering break. Rooms were excellent with comfortable beds. Great central location with own parking space. Extremely helpful host Alex, provided great advice with prompt friendly answers to queries about the local area.
Nothing at all as all was excellent.

The house was warm and cozy
The shower in the bathroom does not drain properly which is very upsetting and a great inconvenience.

Very central location, Comfy beds. Quirky cottage. Great parking. Responsive owner. Some nice furniture and design choices.
Tired bathroom and Jacuzzi leaking through the kitchen ceiling (but owner was very responsive and apologetic). Very creaky floorboards, although can't be helped because it's an old house.

It's a lovely cute cottage with 2 spacious bedrooms and a slightly smaller one, plenty of space for hanging clothes and for personal items for each room.
We loved the location, ease of parking, and very good communication with our hosts.
The showers were not very powerful but adequate for a two night stay. Beds are very comfortable, lovely, and clean. The house was warm, and we had no need for the log burner. Had it been winter, a little starter pack would have been appreciated.

It was so close to shops and restaurants
Just the stairs but it was ok and they said we would have 2 parking spaces at the weekend but someone else was parked in one of them so one of or cars we had to park else where

_Perfect location, clean and tidy.
Guidance regarding use of TV would have been great. I am not very technical so struggled getting any news channels
Would have been good to have small supply of tea /coffee and milk for latecomers - although if you are arriving during daytime hours, the supermarket is just across from the house.

The warm cosy feel of the cottage, lots of original beams and beautiful artwork everywhere. The jet bathtub was an unexpected treat. The central location and Booths restaurant directly opposite were all very convenient. We were visiting Kendal to attend a funeral, so having a relaxing home at the end of the day, was much appreciated.
Blackout curtains in the bedrooms would be better as the outdoor lights at Booths shone through at night. Another small drawer set would be helpful for clothes storage in the bedroom on the first floor.

Hosts were really helpful and provided a lot of information in advance. The property was really well located for exploring Kendal and the surrounding Lake District. Lots of nearby amenities. The house was quite unique and quirky which we loved.
The house could have been a lot cleaner - there was a lot of dust and cobwebs around (behind the beds clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while). A lot of the utensils and pots were dirty and had food on them so we had to rewash everything. There were not really enough mugs/glasses and all looked a bit old/not part of same set so they all looked a bit mismatched. The freezer in the property didn’t work - it was a solid block of ice. The kitchen tap dripped constantly. The heating was set to 7 degrees constantly. We could boost it but it took a while to heat up and meant when we arrived back everyday it was initially very cold. Overall the property had loads of character and could be improved in some quite easy ways.

Where it was positioned you were in the heart of everything. The shopping centre was across the way and you were a 2 minute walk from the town centre with all the shops.
The beds were lumpy, so two of us didn’t really have a good nights sleep due to uncomfortable mattresses. The place needed a proper clean down. There were cobwebs and remnants of food and muck from previous holiday makers.

The location could hardly be better with Booth's, both the shop and the cafe, just across a small car park. The town is only a minute away. The rooms were all very comfortable and the kitchen had every facility you could desire. The bedrooms were comfortable and well furnished. I would gladly stay here again.
The hot tap in the bathroom was rather wonky.

Alex, the host, went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The cosy cottage lived up to it name. It is a rustic cottage with many of the comforts of home. It is the perfect location to walk to Kendal restaurants, bars and shops. If you prefer to dine in, there is a supermarket in front of the cottage. Never has needing to something at the market move convenient. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
There really wasn't anything we disliked. Since I need to write something in this field, I might suggest labels on the light switches so guests know which switch is which lights. It's definitely not a biggie as we were able to figure them out and any questions we had were promptly responded to by text by the owner.

excellent location
The water pressure wasn't good as the toilet took forever to refill. There were only 4 of us staying so wasn't a big issue for us although we did have a bucket of cold water in the bathroom just in case! For full occupancy it would have definitely been a problem.

Very thoughtful and friendly hosts, free parking right outside the property, excellent Water pressure, beautiful bathroom,, heating, location, soft beds, welcome pack we got for our long stay
Ummm just one bathroom in the cottage 🙂 although I now know hosts have plans to add another bathroom to the property , it would be perfect after that!
And our bedroom on top floor didn't have cupboards for storage, it would be nice to have an almirah put in there too
