Walking distance to York tourist attractions and choice of places to eat. Bed was comfortable. Kettle worked. View of the city wall.
44 stairs up to apartment, which were described to me in writing as "there are a few steps to reach this 2nd floor apartment but it's quite manageable ".
The bathroom fan was very noisy and ran on for ages after switching the light off. So we had to leave the hall light on at night or be kept awake.
Shower was very slippy, only 1 hand towel between 2 of us.
The sofa was extremely uncomfortable to sit on.
And if there was any wind, something was hitting the roof above us which kept us awake for hours on 2 nights of our stay.

Really nicely presented and well decorated.
The building itself isn’t very clean with stained carpets

In a great location very close to the city centre, which provided a perfect walkable hub nearby most activities. The apartment itself was clean and roomy enough for a couple, but also felt cosy & comfortable in the downtime we spent there. The view of the York city walls was a nice bonus. There was a supply of tea, washing up tools & bathroom essentials readily available and the bed was quite big and comfortable. The parking space was great for ease and peace of mind, knowing we had somewhere dedicated to keep the car. The communication was good; some others in reviews may think it's a bit too regular, but I liked knowing I had all the info I needed.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and would consider staying here again if we ever came back to York.
The bathroom still had the mild drainage smell that's been mentioned in other reviews. It comes & goes, tends to be worse after you turn the light + therefore the fan on. It was fine first thing in the morning & when coming back from a few hours in town, but will start again once you put the light on in the room.
The bathroom fan is very loud, will come on every time you turn on the light and will continue to rattle through the whole apartment for a bit too long after you've left the room. It would be nice if it was quieter, or if there was a way to manually turn it on & off when needed as I found myself waiting for it to stop before managing to sleep, or using the hallway light instead as to not set it off.
The apartment door was tricky to shut, as there's no pull-bar or handle to properly pull it to a close. We ended up putting the key in the lock at an angle that'd grip the mechanism and allow us to pull it shut, which isn't ideal.
Fine for us but just to make others with mobility reqs aware, it's located on the top floor, up four flights of stairs.

Fantastic location, just minutes from the city centre. The apartment has most things that you need for a self-catering stay. The bed was very comfortable and everything worked.
The apartment smelled a bit musty on arrival, but you get used to it after a while. It could benefit from a deep clean. The bathroom has a sewage smell, so that needs some attention too!

Lovely top floor airy apartment with everything we needed. Bed was extremely comfortable, lounge was a nice size, kitchen was ideal and bathroom was excellent. The views were nice and the surroundings of the building are very well kept. The off-road location and associated parking space are ideal and very peaceful. The location of Feversham House is perfect for the city with everything on your doorstep. The instructions to access the building and keys were very simple to follow.
Nothing once we’d found it. Might be worth adding something into the location advice about being in the right-hand lane on Jewbury and turning right into Cloisters Walk?

In a great location next to the city wall with free parking and only a short walk into the city. The property was very clean with everything you need for a stay on hand. Bed was very comfortable and free WiFi.
The Sainsbury's supermarket behind the property is no longer there, but there is a small Asda and a Morrisons with a fuel station close by too. We had no issues with the stairs, but it would cause problems for some people. We stayed as a couple and would recommend this property for your stay in York.
Maybe some blackout curtains in the bedroom as the roman blinds didn't fit very well.
The code for the bin store didn't work despite confirming with the property office it was correct.
Apart from that, there are no other issues.

The location was fab.
The pillows were quite hard.

It was quiet, comfortable, and very nicely located. We certainly would stay here again.
Being on the top floor, the apartment was served by stairs (40 steps). Not a complaint, but something to beware of, if you are older and/or have a very heavy suitcase!

Location
Couldn’t find the hairdryer; ornaments a little dusty, some marks on the bedsheets and toilet & bathroom floor grout needed bleaching. Wardrobe door needs mending as doesn’t slide.

The bathroom did smell a little, but keeping loo seat down and air fresh re helped

The location is the only positive thing we can say about this property.
Feversham House and this apartment are in urgent need of attention. There is a terrible smell as soon as you enter the communal area. The carpets are old and dirty, should have been replaced years ago. The walls also need painted, a refurbishment is required to bring the communal areas up to an acceptable standard. When you arrive at the apartment door the carpet has two big stains ( previously mentioned in a review ) nothing has been done about it. When we opened the door, which is well worn and needs attention, we were hit with an obnoxious smell. This was coming from the bathroom. There is a major problem with the drain ( previously mentioned in a review) nothing has been done about it. During our two day stay, we felt sick every time we used the toilet. The pan has a stain that doesn’t flush away and there was a spider on the wall. Quite frankly disgusting. The bedroom was another disaster, the mirror wardrobe has a huge crack in it , from top to bottom ( previously mentioned in a review but nothing done about it ) This was dangerous and a H&S issue. On the other side it had stuff in it, blocking the
Fire exit, again a serious H&S issue. This is a danger to life and this apartment shouldn’t be allowed to advertise on booking dot com. We had to remove the bedroom rug during our stay, quite frankly, is was dirty, disgusting and should have been replaced years ago. There was no attention to detail in the apartment, a bar code on the toilet seat, a new clock, in the kitchen at the wrong time and the
old one lying next to it.
My wife and I hosted an apartment in Spain for 20 years, so we know the proper way to manage an apartment.
I had read the reviews beforehand and was slightly concerned about some of them. I asked, Charlie ( the person who manages the apartment) if complaints were attended to before the next guests arrived? I was assured this would be done. None of them were, Charlie tells lies and is disingenuous.

Convenient parking
Nothing really, it was a little pricey, but I guess that's what you pay for a good place.

Great location and very quiet area, everything you need close by, the apartment was lovely in terms of layout and cosy and has pretty much everything you need.
When we arrived, you could tell the apartment hadn't been cleaned properly. The place didn't smell great and everywhere was dusty, cobwebs in each room. There was mould all over the bathroom tiles and shower head. When you book they will change you extra for cleaning fee and then also a damage waiver so be where. I complained but they were disinterested, which is such a shame as its a great apartment. But I don't think it's fair what you pay and then on top of that you arrived and it's unclean.

Don' t do what we did and forget to read small print. 25 admin charge and 50 cleaning charge added to quoted price. See other comments re damage charges or deposit. Might be ok for longer stay but we cut our losses and stayed elsewhere.
Request for further 25 damage waiver premium or 250 damage deposit subject to 10 admin charge. Without agreeing to this you do not get access code.. Did try and cancel within 24 hours thro' booking.com who did try to help but unfortunately messages apparently did not get thro' or no senior staff available at host company.

Very close to walk into York each day.
Free parking in designated space
Sainsburys was right next door, which was really convenient.
The apartment was a good size and well equipped
Easy check in and check out with no contact. I just used a lock box
Nice and quiet even tho was by a main road through York as its set back.
Door was bit dodgy, didn't look locked unless locked with a key.
Wardrobe door was incredibly stiff to open and close.
Funny smell in the corridor like petrol and the carpet was very worn.

Lovely accommodation, very clean. Like home from home. Perfect location 5 minute walk to the city centre and bars and restaurants. Free car park space.
4 flights of stairs wasn't the best, my mums over 70, and struggled slightly.
The insurance you have to take out should be made clearer when booking or added to the price.

lovely flat and handy parking included. nice and modern and had everything we needed
There was webs on ceilings and bathroom fan very dusty! Also sofa arms and back dusty , generally areas not immediately seen were a bit grubby, back of bathroom door mouldings also dusty.

Central location, warm clean flat. Well equipped and attractive furnishing. iIt was a quiet location - shops and restaurants close by.
The entrance to the building and stairs we dirty. There was building work going on in some flats but - no apparent effort to clean it up. in addition we didn’t need reminding so frequently when we were to leave.
4.0 / 10.0
The accommodation is in a good location, easy to walk everywhere.
The host services were unhelpful and rude. The concealed charges in the booking, including and admin fee of £10 to handle the deposit that took over a week to be refunded, this despite indicating the deposit will be refunded upon check out. When we pointed out the issue with the payments, they failed to reconcile the issue, despite Booking.com providing advice that they need to. We ended up receiving compensation for this issue through booking.com directly. The issue could have been easily resolved, but they clearly didn't want to fix the issue. Speaking to booking.com, they indicated there had been many complaints about the same issues. The accommodation provider also sent way too many messages via text and email, which at times felt too much, and example of this was an SMS sent at 8am, reminding us that the check out time was 10am. Sometimes it is the simple things that make all the difference, and the very basics were not met in terms of customer service. The kitchen was also lacking some of the basics that you would expect to find in an apartment like this.

Property was lovely.. but.. (see below)
What should have been a lovely long weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday was marred by the fact that it was hidden in the booking (so much so that it had to be searched for) that upon arrival I would have to pay £250 against any damages but would be returned to us when we left.
Wasn't the case though.. why ?.. well, that's because 2 weeks BEFORE we were to arrive I received an email from Host & Stay (the owners of the property I assume) advising that we would have to pay £250 immediately as a damage waiver fee and this wouldn't be returned back to me until 14 days after departure !!
Or, pay £10 non returnable insurance (or so I thought, obviously I missread this)
I opted for the £10 insurance.. no, £260 was taken from my account ..
As this was in no way part of any agreement that I had with booking.com, I was really angry.
Tried to contact booking.com with my concerns, no joy !!
Although the £250 that is stated on booking.com was anything but clear (was pointed out by Host &Stay and also agreed that it was not transparent on the booking.com website) at the time of booking, this is what I should have paid with the terms I unwittingly agreed to.
If you book with booking.com please be aware that if they are acting on behalf of Host & Stay you will have to pay the damage waiver fee, and that they will hold your money for 28 days, including the period where you are not even using the property !! Unbelievable..
This is a SCAM in which to have your money in their bank account accruing interest because anything less than 28 days = no interest.. AND unfortunately they can't return any of this money earlier as SUPERHOG is the business who does the financial transactions not Host & Stay.. but peace of mind maybe on the horizon as they are each blaming each other for their inability to discuss fairer terms for the customer
I will not be using booking.

Cosy and comfortable.
Kitchen had everything we needed.
Nice festive decorations.
Bed was great.
Perfect location.
WiFi is terribly slow.
Top floor apartment which may be an issue for some. I didn't notice a lift.
No reflection on the property itself, but the communication from the management prior to arrival was too much. Constant nagging to pay £10 admin fee (which you aren't told about at booking) and also to pay £250 (!!) deposit which isn't just held on the account, but actually taken. I imagine they won't be as efficient at returning it as they were for asking for it.
