Only location is good

Good location, sauna is a plus. Decent apt.

Not easy to get respond from the host, check in instructions was received after I called, even I know the instructions will get on the check in day, but I didn't expect it will be at 4pm when check in. Then we have questions about sauna etc, no response like you are on your own. We are 5 people, but the sofa bed needs to open ourselves, good thing we have a man figure out how to open, otherwise I need to sleep on the sofa, not sofabed. The rack to dry cloth is broken, maybe we are the only group wash clothing. Cups and plates a lot to use, but if oil, S & P provided will be nice, we left the salt for future groups to use.

Absolutely horrible - unless you don’t mind dirt.

The location was ok.

The apartment was not clean - there were thick residues of I-don’t-know-what on the bathroom floor, around the toilet and the shower. It was really disgusting. In the sink was short black hair. The shower glass was stained white from scale instead of being see-through. The bottom rim of the shower was elevated for about 8cm and very narrow so it wasn’t suitable for wheelchair users since you couldn’t enter it. In the closet in the entry hall was dust and long black hair and dirt on the bottom. The kitchen was dirty, there were dirty knives in the drawer. From the stove oil was dripping down, the work surface was sticky and oily, as was the stove. The front of the kitchen had multiple stains on both sides. There was only one light above the couch, which was extremely dark. The one over the kitchen table was missing, so when we came home we were basically sitting and eating in the dark, since the sun sets in the middle of the day in winter. Although we contacted the owner about the cleanliness issue there wasn’t really a reaction. I just sent the pictures, the owner said that he/she would contact the cleaners about that problem and that was it. No word of sorry or regret that we came into such a dirthole, no offering a solution that someone would come and fix it, nothing! Thank God we were there only for two nights. We were not able to use the shower or cook for two days, sitting in the dark and we were more than happy when we moved into a new location where it was clean, we could take a shower and feel like humans again.

The entry code was sent very late, after the check in hour, we should have it at least 1 hour before the check in starts, the pillows are a little bit worn out.

It’s a nice play to stay but won’t ever book again because of poor response from the host. U can ask them something but don’t expect an answer back. They will respond whenever they feel like…in a day or two!

Think twice

Communication with the owner very poor. See the messages. Typical "money making" operation. Spend as little as possible and make as much as possible. Drying line for clothing on the veranda not working. Very unhelpful regarding the booking in time. Strictly 16:00. Difficult to store luggage as the property is far away from such a facility. In the booking in instructions, please indicate that the property is on the 4th floor. Only a video available of the property.

Nice house in the center of Rovaniemi!

The apartment is spacious, there are two well-kept bedrooms. The linen are fresh and smell good. Kitchen fully equipped.

There is no parking spot (you have to park in the street and pay 2.2€/h). The bathroom has a sauna but it did not work. The host does not reply any messages (we were there for two days and yet 0 communication…. Really terrible). The glass doors in the balcony are broken and it does not close, it’s unsafe, you must make sure the inside door that opens to the balcony is closed all the time.

Good accommodation near city centre

Almost everything is good. There were few issues in the beginning on apartment check in, however host accommodated and provided alternate arrangements. Also late check out was allowed.

Disappointing

The apartment is located in the centre of town, close to everything and it is very spacious and the kitchen is well equipped.

The host messed up the booking (we had another traveller on our door at 11 PM saying he had booked the place too. Turns out the host is a business with multiple flats and gave t he traveller our flat's access instructiins). The host and did not answer ANY of our questions. I would have cancelled the booking if we werent already on the way. The cleaning was lacking. I had to do a basic kitchen, toilet and shower cleaning upon arrival. The flat has very basic furnishing. No decent blackout curtains, no bedside tables, no TV rack, no fan, broken bed, etc.

Great Easter in Rovaniemi

We liked the location, how clean it was, the sauna and nice light apartment. The balcony was a good bonus. We cooked in the apartment and fitted there comfortably with 3 people and some luggage. Nice stay for our Easter trip in Rovaniemi!

Friends + baby Lapland experience

The apartment was nice. Bed linen and towels are provided, as well as all kitchen equipment. There are even some basics (salt, olive oil, pasta, rice...) that are left over from previous guests. We even got a high chair and a baby bed for our 6 months old baby... Just great! The sauna was also a plus to have. Ask for info how to use it before you arrive and you'll have no problems. The check in was also very easy and smooth. The location is close to the city center, 10 mins walking.

At the beginning the baby equipment was forgotten, but they brought it soon after we let them notice that was not there... So nice experience at the end with the host! A negative point is that there is no free parking spot around, and you have to pay 2,20€/hour until 18 every day except for Saturdays until 16. But I guess it is in all Rovaniemi, not just this specific area.

The property was great but the start when having to pick up the key was awful. Was instructed by email to go to a property between 3-5 to pick up the key, so got a taxi there to find out they had closed down and moved, had to ask next door and they redirected me to new office, got there and no clarity at all couldn’t find our booking, couldn’t get hold of the person that arranged the apartment. This took nearly 2 hrs to get sorted before we could get in, then key was actually at apartment 250m up street!! very annoying. Also couldn’t get the dishwasher to work at all.

Simple and convenient accommodation

There were many amenities including a washer (no drying rack, so we had wet clothes hanging on chairs, etc). They did leave us umbrellas, different kinds of soaps, paper products, dishes, coffee pot, and pots and pans. The beds were comfortable. My daughter had difficulty sleeping, because the blinds let in light even when closed, so a sleep mask was necessary. The sun doesn’t go down in summer. The location is very convenient for those who don’t mind a short walk.

It was a little difficult to give directions to the exact location to drivers. We learned to tell them to meet us at the corner, which is not far.

Best place to live in Rovaniemi, if you are a solo traveler or a group of friends.

The apartment was clean and at the perfect location. We had a very comfortable stay.

Nothing, everything was perfect. However, the building was 7b and the owner sent an email with instructions about checking-in and accidentally wrote 7a, which is why we had difficulty finding the apartment for a while, but we managed.

The appartment is new and well designed. All the facilities are functioning. It surprises the suna that they have is just amazing. Its a nice experience for a forigner traveler

The main problem for me is the collection of the key. Its extremely cold outside and we waited outside for long hour without reaching to the host successfully. After many calls and the host replied the way to collection of the key, we walked to the apartment but the key is still missing. And we call the host again and eventually the key is in other place. After we collect the key successfully and opened the place, the apartment is not cleaned yet.... So we need to walk outside for another hour before the cleaning guy finish the cleaning. So, the check-in process are extremely uncomfortable

Great location, very easy check in and check out process, and the apartment is huge and super nice! It was clean, tidy, and warm

The only thing that could have been better are pots and pans, and other things for the kitchen. I appreciate not all guests cook a lot, and the essentials are there. But if you cook for lunch and dinner, then you're going to need to wash everything up every time, otherwise you don't have enough plates, silverware or pots to cook the next meal. And there's not blender. But it's a small thing. Overall, it has everything you need and it's a great place to stay.

Comfortable Apartment in Central Location

Very comfortable two bedroom apartment. The complex was secure and very quiet. Apartment was clean and had all amenities required for self sufficient stay. Fantastic location close to the city centre, train station and museums. Heating very good with bathroom having heated tiles. Sauna also available and a there was a small area to sit outside if you could brave the cold.

The check-in is what lets this property down. Checkin time is 4pm, when asked if we could have a day rate was advised we could check-in around 1pm for an extra €60. We were advised at the time of booking that the keys could be picked up from the office (which is a few blocks away)between 3-5pm and further instructions regarding door codes would be sent to us on day of checkin. Check-in day, The office was not open and instructions were only sent to us after phoning the owner at 3.30pm. It was not clear how to enter the property or what number our apartment was. After a couple of walks around the block in the cold and additional calls to the owner we finally found our apartment. Wifi instructions were not clear and owner did not return our messages in regard to this- we did however find the password a day after being there in the fuse box. We also found another couple who had this very same issue on their arrival.

Biggest problem was the extendible couch. The extended part was made of soft cushions so impossible to sleep on. I ended up sleeping on the floor.

there are many photos sauna which we dont have in our room. ı feel dissappointed. also finding the office for getting the room key is really hard. luckily i found a person from the street who knows the office address. the office couldnt told the exact apartment name. ıt was a disaster. ı have never been in this position also never have to write a comment like this. you should write the street after writing the street name because people can get confused if it is an apartment name or street name or what???

Cozy apartment in Rovaniemi

The apartment itself is very nice - cozy, warm, plesant and well equipped. The location of the building is very central and close to everything. Restaurants, supermarkets and a shopping center are located within an 8-10 min walk. We also rented a parking place in the parking garage located in the same building. It was very convenient and not too expensieve.

1. Communication - It is not easy to communicate with the host. The host only replies messages sent via Booking.com and it usually takes not less than half a day to get a response. 2. Check in - To collect the apartment key we were instructed to go to another address and take it from the key box. A code from the key box was sent to me only at 16.00 on the day of arrival. 3. Parking - Before we arrived I asked the host about parking option. The host replied we could use a parking garage and sent me a price. I confirmed that we would like to use it. I also confirmed this again on the day of arrival. But when we arrived and collected the apartment key from the key box, there where no mentions of the parking. I tried to call the host phone many times but there was no answer. Finaly somebody answered and told me that he can bring us the parking garage key within 30 minutes! 4. Cleanliness - the apartment was mostly clean, but not everything seemed to be checked. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, pieces of salami on the floor in the pantry and so on... 5. Value for money - everything is too expensive in Rovaniemi!

Everything. Mostly, the fact that there was no response to our messages. The sofa bed was broken. There were dirty dishes and towels from the previous guests. There were broken water glasses. The extra cost for our transfer from one apartment to another because the original apartment was not ready. The fact that every time the directions for the keybox were not clear at all and had to play strategy game to solve the riddle and much more...
