Gardeners Cottage

Really comfortable place and very convenient for walking and travelling around.

Excellent location for a quiet stay. The cottage was private, clean and easily manageable All necessary appliances. Hot water and good heating. Very suitable for the single person. Hawkshead a good walk away for bus route to Ambleside, shops, pub, deli, supermarket and pharmacy. I though it a good price for my stay. Parking allocated outside the front door. Good Wifi signal. Friendly locals. The company was responsive with email enquiries.

An alternative route to get to the cottage. The ferry is a quicker way to get to it from Windermere. Check the ferry times. Straight to the top of the hill, pass the village. Watch for the left turning to the cottage. The defib' on the right. The entrance to the cottage is on a bend to the right, it's a little tight to get through with the car. Blink and miss it. The cottage is hidden back on right through the gate.

Parking a little tight

I love the location and stayed in the area before. Private parking is a bit tight but you can park outside the country house, all the things you would need home from home as in kitchen items fridge freezer, toaster microwave etc. Bed was comfortable Communication was fab Nice bathroom Compact buy has everything you need for a short stay

Bit dusty on higher levels Couch quite worn, not the comfiest Note left with instruction to strip the bed before leaving (not done that before) I didn't mind but didn't like what we'd been sleeping on once the bed was stripped, Stained duvet and pillows and some on the mattress 😔 All was pretty much good until this point.
