Disappointing.

We loved Bruges, but our hotel experience was very disappointing. While room service was fast and the hotel atmosphere was nice, the rest of the stay was uncomfortable and frustrating. We were forced to upgrade to a different room category because we were traveling with our 4-year-old child, supposedly due to “safety and policy” reasons. We don’t mind paying extra for comfort — but in this case, we paid more and felt less comfortable. The room itself felt unsafe and impractical. It had slippery stairs, and I fell and got bruised, which affected my entire stay. I was constantly worried about my child falling as well. The bathroom being upstairs made things even more inconvenient, especially at night. Valet and parking were chargeable, which is understandable, but the extra fees just to park the car were unreasonable. Some staff members were very friendly, but unfortunately others made us feel unwelcome. Bruges is beautiful, but sadly this hotel did not meet expectations.

Pleasant atmosphere and staff

I really liked the hotel, it looks incredible, fabulous in winter. Excellent breakfast, delicious snacks and sparkling wine, very polite staff, pleasant atmosphere inside. The room was large, all the amenities are there, the view is beautiful to the garden

The room was cool, the climate control could not regulate the temperature, I would like more choice of dishes for breakfast

Perfect venue to stay in Brugges

Beautiful public areas in the hotel, all spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable and clean bedrooms. Fantastic location just off the market square. We used the hotel for breakfast and a bar tapas meal rather than the restaurant. Angelo in the bar area took great care of us during our stay and went out of his way to help my wife who was suffering from a nasty cold bug. One of our party has a strict gluten free and vegan diet and again Angelo came to the rescue in a city that seemed to struggle with these.

I didn't find any negatives about the hotel, would be pleased to stay there again.

Super hotel!

Great location and the staff were excellent. When we entered Brugge Google Maps took us into the centre which was closed to cars for Christmas shopping. We had to contact the hotel and Stephen stayed on the phone and guided us to the hotel.

Modern and chic

Amazing property, people walking by were amazed at how beautiful it looks. The room we stayed in was recently renovated and very modern and also very clean.

I didn’t like that we had to go outside to visit the restaurant and bar. Also, there was a brick wall in front of our room. While good for privacy, not much of a view.

Breakfast was very good. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and this was also excellent. Drinks in the bar and again very attentive staff. The chambermaid was lovely and took time to say hello. Location is central to the city.

Location brilliant, quiet rooms, clean, stylish, professional staff, smart bar area.

Basic toiletries (looked nice but definitely weren’t nice), 2 coffee pods only, 1 bottle of water to share. Stopped it being 5 star for that reason…. Stingy.

I liked the hotel and may return, but it better improve the breakfast and give a warmer welcome.

Location, building, spacious everywhere you look, which is rare in Bruges. The calm and quietness of the hotel, all over. Spa is a plus for those into it.

Breakfast, pricey and though there no real bad was not up to standard of 5* (limited in many choices and the breakfast room deco is not inspired, which is a pity when we see the rest of the building). The TV in bedroom - poor choice of channels for such a price of bedroom. The welcome is not the usual 5*- there was no personal welcome note or any token of courtesy in the bedroom.

Everything. In fact, we think it was the best hotel we’ve stayed in this year…. And we’ve stayed in many others.

The room curtains are not blackout. They should provide sweetener in the room coffee machine accessories, trivial but worth mentioning.

Beautiful hotel right in the center of Bruges

Stunning hotel in a fantastic location right in the middle of town. Large comfortable rooms and beautiful interior. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. Really lovely outdoor seating area where we had drinks overlooking the garden.

TV in the room was extremely old and slow and not really in keeping with the class of this hotel. Really needs updating. Breakfast was fair but not at the level I expected for the price or hotel.

Best place to stay in Bruges

The place is magnificent, staying in an antique palace feels Uniqe and amazing at the same time the rooms were comfortable and cozy and AC cooling was great, the service was amazing because you hang up the phone and 3 minutes later what you requested comes to you, great receptionists ! And location is close to everything in the center

Beautiful hotel in the centre of Bruges

My stay in the hotel was excellent. - I felt very welcomed by everybody. - The hotel was meticulously cleaned and the atmosphere was awesome. The quietness of the room was perfect allowing a very good quality sleep. - The breakfast buffet was also great: a wide variety of choices and high quality food. - The location was amazing: 5 min from the centre of the city.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. However, below there are a couple of constructive points about what could be improved. - Although the mattress is extremely comfortable, the pillows are bobbly. - Although I did enjoy the breakfast choices, other omelette options were not mentioned by the staff.

The property is beautiful and the location is perfect. Everything is at the walking distance. However, the best part of the property is the staff; I want to specially mention the wonderful lady Margot who works at reception. She was super helpful, proactive in understanding needs and providing help. Margot did make our stay special at Dukes Palace

Beautiful hotel with exceptional rooms & garden restaurant in the heart of beautiful Bruge.

Big openable windows in the bedroom to enjoy the fresh air and view of the beautiful garden. Also loved the restaurant and bar leading out to the garden. Very special.
