Smart small apartment in great location, don't forget to take your towels

There wasn't any towels & no iron or bin bags? Also no private parking. have to pay council parking prices.

All great apart from the stupid early morning text

Functional and clean

Getting a text at 07.00 on the Sunday morning prior to departure reminding me to be out by 10.00 . Very annoying and not necessary when I’m on vacation!!!!

Great location as it is on one of the high streets with lots of restaurants and shops. Close to the train station and a fair bit of paid parking lots. The space does look like the photos.

The hosted never checked on us even though we were a long stay (14+ days). We had housekeeping services once and we had to ask for it. No replacement of toiletries (like toilet paper) or clean towels and sheets. The building is mostly b&bs, which is fine, but the cleaners (very nice and friendly) but are really loud on change over days, the doors are thin. Finally the store below is a guitar shop.

Very nice location and apartment - great for weekend hiking trips

I booked this last minute on the Friday evening for the next day for 2 nights. The emails linked to their site made the process very easy. Checked in online, got the entry instructions and went from there. Although the lock box is fiddly I don't know why other folk have complained about it being hard to get in the apartment, it's really not. Very clean, great appliances (not cheap rubbishy ones), lovely bathroom. We loved this small but well appointed apartment. The bedroom is very quiet at night and made us wonder if there was some sound proofing. Blackout blind and curtains. Very near the train station so we were able to get the early train back on Monday morning ready for work. Also near nice Ale Pubs and Big Shops.

The only thing I didn't like was that the bedroom does get stuffy but you can't open the door as the front door light is on a sensor - if that was by switch I would have had the door open and slept better.

Great location

This was a perfect size and location for me as a solo female traveller. Excellent public transport links with the train l5 mins walk away, and a bus stop outside the building taking me to all the attractions I wanted to see. Despite being on a main road, the rooms are at the back of the building so no traffic or nightlife noise to worry about. The restaurants and bars close by suit all ages and needs. I felt very safe in the flat and surrounding area.The flat had excellent heating and cooking facilities. The hot water was instant whenever I needed. There was plenty of space for clothes and so on, and it was in good decorative order, as per the photos. I would definitely book again if I were in the area.

Other reviewers have mentioned the locks and I tend to agree on some points. The instructions mention that the security box on the outside door is the unlabeled one, it would be easier to say the middle box. When you arrive at night in pouring rain as I did, its difficult to see anything much, and certainly not any labels. You need both hands so I had the torch on my phone in my mouth while trying to navigate the lock. Not easy. The inside lock is much easier as a light comes on, but you still need a pair of hands to turn two locks. The WiFi was a little shaky... I could only use one device or watch TV, but hey...its holiday, put the devices down! My top suggestion would be to provide a pint of milk and a couple of tea bags/coffee. It would be very welcome after a long journey. I'm not sure I would have found the flat big enough for two if my partner was with me, simply because the bed is pushed up against the wall and the sofa is quite small but that's all personal preference.

Very comfortable bijou apartment next to an incredibly good smelling smokehouse restaurant.

Good location above restaurants and bars with an excellent coffee shop on Olde English Street. Small car park immediately round corner on Olde English where could park for 3 days for £11 with Rover pass which was also valid in most local car parks. Smart small apartment. Decent bed, good shower room.

Key lock box is unlabelled but is middle of 3. Instructions say there is a knack to getting the door key to turn but there isn't, it is totally normal. There was no hot water on arrival but there is a boost switch in the bedroom which is not clearly labelled but explained in the welcome notes. Bedroom is narrow meaning that double bed is hard against the wall on one side.

everything we needed in the apartment and it was very clean. Matlock is handy for visiting Peak District

Access into apartment difficult and many people would not be able to manage keeing in code and turning two handles - bottom handle trapped fingers !! Negative was vomit outside bars but not your fault

The bed was too soft, incredibly uncomfortable for us, we didn’t sleep well during our stay. The mattress states that it does not roll together but we didn’t find that the case. Facilities were lovely, located within easy access of were we wanted to go.

Nice little Matlock town centre apartment

Parking arrangements were a little inconvenient - although a permit was issued for the public car park, it was not free between 11.00 and 16.00 and sometimes the nearest car park was full when we returned after days out. The bed was comfy but placed against the wall on one side which caused disruption if an individual had to get up in the night ( not really suitable for an older couple). The couch in the kitchen/lounge area had seen better days and was a tad uncomfortable as the seating cushions had lost their support. The kitchen was well equipped but did not have a dishwasher or freezer.

Really good town centre location at the heart of the Peak District. Apartment felt most welcoming and was clean and tidy, had good wifi and had a well equipped kitchen. The electric heating system was effective which meant the apartment felt comfortable and cosy at all times of day and night. The apartment had a wall mounted smart TV with some excellent apps ( Netflix, BBC iplayer, My5 etc). The shower (no bath) was good and there was always hot water on tap (sometimes had to use the hot water booster system).

Enjoyable overall; many things to do locally despite the wet weather. Well worth the stay.

Good place to travel from; in town centre so easy to journey around. Good for parking thanks to use of parking permit as part of package. Quiet location despite being on main A6. Comfortable flat, good information about locality and possible things to do. Thanks for tea bags in jar! Great restaurant just down road - Stones. Food of good quality well presented with attentive warm service. Pub - Remarkable Hare - friendly staff and good pub food.

Not so much 'didn't like' but clearer instructions on which key box to access for outside door key would have been helpful. A minor point which didn't detract from accessing flat. No bag in which to put bedsheets at end of stay, despite a note indicating a bag available

Superb

Very clean and well furnished, with a good amount of kitchen equipment. Its a small apartment but very comfortable, and for two people the size isn't a problem at all.

The only bad thing was a small blue light in the bedroom which made it difficult to sleep - but it can be covered pretty easily.
