Very well equipped comfortable holiday cottage perfect for a relaxed vacation in the midst of nature

Very well designed recently fully renovated cottage, well insulated with modern heating system. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. Bathroom with an infrared sauna! Big TV and great small sound system. Very nicely decorated loft with a large terrace. Tranquil setting with spectacular views on Little Loch Broom and steep hills on the opposite side. Beautifully landscaped large garden with a barefoot trail next to a small stream. Lovely and caring hosts who know the area very well. Excellent base to explore the Scottish highlands and islands of Ross & Cromarty.

A lovely quiet retreat with a beautiful view.

The hosts live next door and they are very helpful. The accommodation was clean with all necessary amenities, plus a BBQ/fire pit and also a sauna.

We stayed in the western wagon and it was delightful to get up every morning and view the beautiful scenery and the wildlife. The hosts Linda and Mike were great- warm and welcoming, and we had an enjoyable stay. Perfect location in the Highlands to explore!

We all really enjoyed out stay. The tiny house was beautifully fitted out, warm and cosy.

We made our own breakfast. The location was stunning. Beautiful in the rain and the sun and the clouds. Very peaceful. We loved the sheep and the chickens too.

Magical, romantic, special place

Stunning cabin, beautiful remote location. We didn’t want to leave. Linda and Michael are great hosts.

A quirky, cosy and peaceful place to stay that is surrounded by nature and spectacular landscape

The location of the western wagon - with the view across Little Loch Broom to Beinn Gobhlach - was spectacular and continually changing with the weather and time of day. It was possible to walk to the loch for a swim from the wagon. Nearby, there are beautiful white sandy beaches, like Mellon Udrigle, as well as a range of walks for all levels from low-level paths to more challenging Corbetts and Munro peaks. The wagon itself was super cosy, with underfloor heating and a brilliant shower - so it was a great place to return to after a day exploring in the great outdoors during the depths of winter! We were even lucky enough to see aurora borealis in the starry sky at night when it was clear. We loved our stay at Sounds of Durnamuck

Exceptional

We spend three wonderful days at Linda`s and Mike`s tiny house. Hosts were very nice and helpful, everything was very clean. A wonderful piece of land, the kids loved to stroll around. And a lot of places to explore close by. We will surely come back!

The midges love that place as well. But that was not a big suprise to us.

beautiful location, out away from everything. it was maintained well and great facilities. the view was picturesque. driving distance from several amazing spots. the hosts were very nice and helpful. homemade bread!

wish there was a washer/dryer. or even a clothes line to dry clothes on. but really nothing to complain about here.

The location was stunning, beautiful views. The wagon was very cozy. It was equipped with everything we needed. The pancakes from the barn were exceptional. A very enjoyable stay with lovely hosts.

The western wagon at the Sound of Durnamuck is a quirky piece of paradise

The location is wonderful, with deer for neighbours and fantastic views it really is very special. Linda and Mike are fantastic hosts and go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. The Western Wagon is a unique and quirky experience but we loved it. It is very cosy, with lovely touches like a coffee machine and Bluetooth speaker and everything you need for cooking and relaxing. Our dog loved the heated floor so much she really didn't want to get up most mornings!! If you get the chance sample the pancakes they are superb, we will definitely come back.

There was nothing really, it might have been nice to have an ice compartment in the fridge but that's not a deal beaker!!

Everything else was perfect

Understand its personal choice but think for the price should have had a TV. Yes there is a fabulous view to look at but it's dark at 8pm. A kettle would also have been great. Finally it was very hot and couldn't open windows due to midges. A fan would have been welcome

Wonderful and quirky

We stayed in the Wild West wagon - it was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. There are super touches - a pair of binoculars to look for birds and a brilliant and very comfortable pull out bed.

What not to like? It was not immune from midges .

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a tour round the North and Western Highlands.

Location was superb. Really peaceful and relaxing. Fantastic views. Comfortable and well equipped. Had everything we needed. Beds extremely comfortable- slept like a log. Western Wagon is unique and far exceeded our expectations and is a brilliant tech detox destination. No Wifi but phone signal was good.

Lovely wagon

The Western Wagon is unique and very comfortable. The scenery is beautiful and it is quiet and peaceful. We received a friendly welcome and were allowed a late check out. The shower was powerful and the bed was comfortable. Our hosts were extremely accommodating. We enjoyed the pancakes and the breakfast box. Would recommend!

Linda and Mike were amazing hosts who put a few special touches into our arrival. The wee wagon was great and the scenery from the balcony was amazing. We will definitely return to such a fantastic setting.

The horse flies and midges but they were still worth it for such an amazing location and fantastic hosts who went the extra step to make our stay memorable.

Deer gem paradise

One day we had a delicious pancakes and coffee in pancake barn ( close to our accommodation, in main building)and we ordered for home additional bread which was so tasty. The location is gem, so quiet beautiful views from our room over Loch and mountain and generally accommodation had very homely relaxing feel and for my tractor digger loving boy these machines were on site too as a bonus 🙂Definately recommend for a peaceful holiday. We did lots of trips from here by bike also, would come back anytime. Also our son fall in love with deer 🦌 here as we saw lots of them in night time.

Western wagon

Mike and Linda were perfect hosts and have created unique holiday homes in beautiful setting with great views. Really nice couple and were very welcoming. The Wagon which we stayed in was perfect really cosy and had everything we needed. The outside seating area was great, especially for the dogs, and the gas barbecue was an extra bonus. I would highly recommend this place for a break with views or for hiking the many hills/mountain around. The beaches along the coast were good for long walks with the dogs.

Eine außergewöhnliche Erfahrung

Wir wandern gern in unseren Urlauben, so haben wir uns bewusst für das Quartier in einer etwas abgelegenen Gegend entschieden, die wiederum für Wanderer prädestiniert ist. Neben einem komfortablen Tiny-House, gibt es noch den Wester-Wagon zu buchen. Wir haben den Western-Wagon erhalten und ich muss feststellen, das war genau richtig! Der Blick auf den Fjord und die umgebenden Berge, die Ruhe - unbezahlbar. Der Western-Wagon hat alles was man benötigt. Für uns als Nichtcamper eine großartige Erfahrung. Alles macht einen durchdachten, soliden Eindruck - es mangelt an nichts. Wir haben die Frühstücksoption gewählt, so hat uns Mike jeden Früh (nach Wunschzeit) ein reichhaltiges Frühstück gebracht (sogar mit frisch gepresstem Orangensaft). Die drei Tage waren eine super Erfahrung. Wir haben uns einen Flyer mitgenommen, vielleicht kommen wir mal wieder - ich denke, dass sagt alles.

Es gibt nichts zu meckern.
