We had such a lovely time here, we had everything we needed.

Perfect base for lake district holiday
Superb base for a weeks holiday. We did great walks from the door exploring the langdales and walked to Ambleside and Grasmere. Fairly central location so all the favourite spots not too far to drive. The kitchen was well equipped (loads of cooking equipment, kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge, separate freezer) and really lovely and clean. Two good size sofas which were very comfortable. Great that the cottage accepts dogs and bonus laundry room downstairs with washing machine and separate tumble dryer, two clothes horses. The laundry room is really warm due to boiler which makes it ideal for drying off wet coats, dog towels and boots. The temperature of the cottage was always pleasantly warm but not too hot. Bathroom was clean and liked that there was a bath after a long days walking, water was always hot. Bedrooms have built in cupboards with hanging rail and shelves. There is a very well equipped village shop and a choice of pubs in close proximity. Would recommend to others, we really enjoyed our stay.
There was a notice asking us to strip the beds on departure which is absolutely no problem but in doing so it revealed the mattress protectors are quite stained. They could do with replacing. One of the mattresses in the twin room had a spring gone, could do with replacing. In the twin room two bedside lamps are provided but only one plug, would be great if a multi plug adaptor could be provided. These are only minor things and did not detract from our stay.

Excellent property for a Lakes walking holiday
Very nice property. Good size for 4 people (only 3 in our group). Spotlessly clean, Very well equipped kitchen - only thing missing was a wok for Chinese stir-fry. Great location for challenging walks (note that if driving up to the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park, the pay and display machine only accepts coins and it is 7.50GBP for a full day). The parking at the property was much easier than the booking.com entry suggested - we were always able to park in the area immediately behind the house - never needed to park out on the road.
