Fantastic relaxing family holiday

Lovely spacious and well appointed property with all the facilities you require and nice surrounding garden. Extremely clean and comfortable, very comfortable beds. Fantastic for exploring the local area with doorstep walks. Very peaceful, quiet and cosy. Would definitely return and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good local restaurant and cafe if you don't wish to travel. The ground floor apartment was great for my father who isn't the best on his feet.

No welcome pack or basic provisions on arrival was a little disappointing. Local hotel provides good food, however eating out in an evening is a 15 minute drive in all directions, not an issue for us but worth noting.

Perfect highland stay!

The cottage was absolutely lovely, we couldn't have asked for better. The house is gorgeous, it's well positioned and has everything you could need.

Nothing really, if I had to be super critical, a curtain on the front door for privacy going to the toilet at night, but this by no means was an issue as the entrance is private and not overlooked at all.

Warm, welcoming and perfect for a large family.

Two very comfortable sitting rooms. excellent kitchen with everything you need! Quality cooker/ American style fridge and cutlery was good. Beds very comfortable . Good boot room for wet clothes. Sweet garden and well placed for walks in beautiful Abernethy forest.

no en suite to master bedroom..so be prepared to walk across 2 rooms and a hall. There is a double room with en suite though..but just an electric shower. Other bathroom is opposite a twin room and has bath ..good shower. Woodburner fantastic but need instructions to operate the vents..as it smoked out on the first night!

Fantastic stay at Granite Cottage!

Superb location in the heart of the village. Close to shops, cafe, hotel, park and forest. The apartment was immaculate and very comfortable. We all agreed on the high quality of the mattresses and bedding and slept well the whole stay. The apartment was very family friendly with games and space for everyone to use. The kitchen was fantastic - good size, very clean and very well stocked with all kitchen items required. Having the utility and boot room was also really handy especially with doing lots of outdoor activities. We could store our mucky boots and clothes out there and not bring dirt through the apartment. We enjoyed a lovely fire in the Livingroom on colder nights but the heating throughout the apartment was excellent all week. A fantastic stay and we would love to visit again!

As we brought our dog, we think having the garden split into secure sections - eg one area for upper apt and another for lower, would allow us to let our dog out for some playtime without worrying about guests in the other apt (our pup can tend to jump on people when excited to meet them). But that’s our only area of concern and it is specific to our requirements. If we stayed without our dog then we’d be happy to share the garden space.

Pleasant

Spotlessly clean, spacious accommodation over one floor with three good sized bedrooms and a very well-appointed and well stocked kitchen

We weren’t made aware that we weren’t actually renting the whole property but rather just the ground floor and we were very surprised when another couple and their two small children arrived to stay in the upstairs apartment, at which point the soundproofing was tested to the extreme. Another niggle was that the best appointed bedroom, at the front of the property, had no bathroom near it and there was a strange smell in the room which we never found the source of.

Een geweldig verblijf om van daaruit de cairnsgorms te ontdekken.

Wat een geweldige cottage! Alles wat je maar nodig kan hebben was aanwezig. De cottage is zo ruimtelijk, we voelden ons er echt thuis van huis. Een perfecte locatie om van daaruit de omgeving te ontdekken. Naast een supermarkt was er ook een farmshop waar je overheerlijke verse producten kan halen. Verder was er ook een koffiehuis waar de koffie en taartjes super lekker zijn.

Het enige verbeterpuntje is dat de pannen wel toe zijn aan vervanging, maar verder ontzettend genoten. We hebben de cottage al aangeraden aan vrienden.
