Villa Mareta

This was our second time staying here & is a lovely villa. It's about 20 mins walk to the town. It is clean, spacious & has a pool. The pool is quite deep.

The last day we were checking out at 11.00 & we had agreed to leave then. However the cleaners arrived at 10.30 & it felt a bit stressful packing up the last bits. Also, i think the kettle broke... but no issue as there was a spare one.

Villa was spacious with lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen and a cosy lounge which we used to watch films on the one day we had a storm. The outside space is exceptional - beautiful pool with sun loungers and a shaded area with table and chairs. Also a great view of Montaña Roja in the background.

This isn’t a criticism of the property - it is a 20 minute walk from the centre of Playa Blanca which may be a challenge for children or more elderly travellers. It is a pleasant stroll though if you are not in a hurry. However the local taxis are plentiful and well priced - around €5 euro into town for up to four people (for the taxi not person).

La comodidad, las prestaciones que brindaba, la cocina totalmente equipada y funcionaba todo muy bien, incluso se rompió la tostadora y en menos de 24 hs ya nos trajeron una nueva. Los AA funcionaban perfectamente. El wiffi funcionaba muy bien en el sector central d la casa, no así en los dormitorios. El dueño de la casa ha venido y nos trajo algunos vinos y frutos de regalo! La atención de todos ha sido excelente.

El baño en suite del dormitorio principal no es muy funcional (sin puerta para privacidad) , con Yacuzzi enorme pero sin ducha. La ubicación es para ir con auto sino el todo queda lejos, la playa y sector comercial están a 2 km aprox cruzando la autovía.

It’s a good sized property with a good sized space outside. The kitchen is quite well stocked with plates, cups etc. there is an electric gate with a parking space inside. The pool man came every 5 days early. Cleaned thoroughly and locked the gate when he left. The bed was comfy.

We stayed for one month and although the bed and towels were changed every seven days we didn’t have a single clean which I queried and was told this was normal and it wasn’t included. The towels were rubbish, elastic and didn’t dry you!! The house is very tired, there’s mould and walls are flaking paint badly in lots of places. They wanted €25 a day to heat the pool which they would reduce to €630 as we were there a month. We felt that was a lot of money to heat the pool so chose not to. It was further from town than we expected, there’s James villa information and they went out of business in 2023. Nothing up to date. I cleaned the BBQ under the grill as I don’t believe it had been ever cleaned as it was full of ash and didn’t work until I cleaned it. There was no wire brush to clean the grill.
