Two days in Marseille

We really liked the location of the property — it was close to the city center and everything was within walking distance. For those traveling by car, there is a private indoor parking space available, which is very convenient. As a family of five (2 adults and 3 children aged 17, 17, and 11), we found the space and amenities ideal for our needs. It’s also important to carefully follow the instructions provided by the host to ensure a smooth check-in and stay.

Not a good experience

The apartment wasnt very clean , in some spots there was a lot of dust and spider webs. We were 6 persons and the sofa that would host two of them was not ready as a bed and broken. Also the duvet and the extra pillows that would be used from the people on the sofa had no cover and were very dirty. Moreover there was one towel missing and when we asked the host to provide us with she said there is one in the wardrobe, but there wasn't.

Difficult to enter the apartment and the neighborhood building is too old

The apartment inside in general look nice. The distance to the tourist areas is not far, half an hour by foot.

The apartment is very difficult to find and enter. Although the host sent a message that the apartment is at the 3rd floor with the RIGHT stairwell (stairwell B). But this right stairwell is so small that guests will easily take the main stairwell by mistake. This happened when we arrived at midnight 11:00pm. The building has no elevator. Therefore, it is difficult to climb stairs with heavy luggage. The building where the apartment is located is old. Many lights in the building did not work at night. When we searched for the apartment in the darkness with heavy luggage that night, believe me, it is not fun at all! When we finally find the right apartment, we tried to open the apartment entrance door with the two keys from the lock box. After attempt for 10mins, the door could not be opened, since one of the two locks got stuck. The host, who lives nearby, tried to open the door by himself, but failed like us. Then he brought some screw drivers, tried to broke into the apartment. Still failed at the first attempts. Then checked whether he could climb into the apartment from one of the windows, not feasible. The host brought a bigger screw driver and tried again to remove the lock which was stuck. After half an hour, finally the lock part on the door frame was removed and we were able to enter the apartment. A good travel story to tell, but it is not fun at all at midnight! The apartment inside in general look nice. But the locks for the bedroom and the toilet room do not work. This is fine if you travel with your family or close friends. There is no air conditioner, only an electronic fan. Our friends are sensitive to noise. Therefore, the fan could not be used. They have to leave the bedroom door open at night to cool down. The host offered us to waive one night fee for compensation of the unpleasant entrance. But when we contacted him several times, although he agreed to transfer the money, he still has not done the refund ._.

Nice apartment in Marseille

In ideal location. Apartment was comfortable. Area quiet and yet very close to everything. Ideal for 2 people.

The amount of stairs to reach third floor! Apartment at end of corridor which is dark as lighting switches off quickly and difficult in opening locks of apartment door in the dark! Bedding was wrinkled so unsure if it was cleaned or just un-ironed? Appears to be in mid- decor as presses and drawers with locks hiding paint etc? Locker in one bedroom collapsed as one leg not screwed in? Wall decor with elephant in living area appears broken and crooked but was this way when we arrived! Was large press in one bedroom totally just stuffed with bedding/towels? - not organised so unsure if for use or belonging to someone? Or if used? Recommend providing softer towels! Towels were very rough! Also clean mattress cover would be good. Unsure if floors had been cleaned as my socks I wore ended up very dirty after walking on it! Would be nice to have welcome pack such as milk teabags etc. We did bring our own sugar and teabags!

Stay away from this property if you want to avoid trouble!

Flat near Vieux Port

Disaster building - rude and stringency owner The flat is located in a worn down old building and owned by a greedy landlord with no understanding of service. Because of a broken pipe, we had no water during most of our stay. We could not shower for two days, which ruined our holidays during Covid-19. The owner did nothing to offer a solution (e.g. bring us some water buckets). He REFUSED to give us any COMPENSATION & never said he was sorry as ”this was not his fault!”. Booking.com should not include these greedy amateurs into the system without training them on the basics of the hospitality business.

J’ai du mal à comprendre certain avis car Au premier abord il semble super, mais niveau ménage et hygiène zéro, Draps, protège matelas et matelas tachés ! Tous ! Oreillers jaune, troués, j’ai dû acheter 5 coussins ! Nous étions 5, nous avons eu des serviettes pour 4 … Vraiment déçu …

Un mauvais début mais agréable au final .

L’emplacement, appartement bien agencé et calme. La réactivité du propriétaire.

Une des chambre n’avait pas été faite : draps sales en boule sur le lit…. Le propriétaire nous a indiqué où trouver les draps propres et nous avons refait le lit…. Au 3ème étage sans ascenseur pas accessible à tous .

Cosy 😇

Tout est exactement comme sur les photos, très propre et bien équipé.

La femme de ménage a omis de mettre les clés a l'endroit précisé par le propriétaire. Mais propriétaire très réactif 😇. Pas d'ascenseur avec une valise de 25kg au 3eme étage c'était difficile pour une maman avec 2 enfants 😅.
