So quiet and relaxing, a listed property with many interesting features, friendly hosts Helen ,Martin & max. Lots of local help and tips, just the places we needed for a lovely weekend. Fantastic views and walks, close to Bakewell and Buxton for town visits
Happy with everything

It started with the first impression. The location is breathtaking. We wanted quiet and somewhat remote and The Lodge was perfect. It is nestled between the Derbyshire Dale with sheep bleating when you look out of the window and everything is green and the air is crystal clear. Then we met our host and she was a delight and she provided us with all the necessary local info we needed to plan our food shopping, our hikes, etc. We also met Max, their dog who was adorable and friendly. The Lodge is such a character building with a nice lounge, kitchen and a bedroom upstairs. The bathroom can be accessed via a rather low-frame door which was not an issue for us - we are not giants after all. Hot water is perfect, although we barely used it, because it was rather hot weather during our visit. There are a few easily accessible villages around and the locals are lovely and helpful. We went for a hike and got drenched, but at the local post office/shop/cafe, the lady made us a banging cup of tea. If you like a bit of an adrenalin rush, Buxton is close by where you can try Go Ape. Highly recommended.
There was nothing that we did not like about our accommodation and stay. The place was perfect for us, Londoners, who wanted to get away from the noise and rush of a big city. We definitely will return.

Location
Stained carpets, bathroom dusty and dead plant leafs around. Behind bedside tables covered in cobwebs. Entrance was full of cobweds and dead leafs. Kitchen was not provided with clean and unused cloths and sponges.
