Relaxing New Year break in beautiful surroundings

Access in to the property was very straightforward with excellent instructions provided and an earlier check in permitted, very kindly, on request. The apartment itself is lovely, very spacious, comfortable and well equipped.. The views from the windows are beautiful and the location is peaceful. There are plenty of walks nearby with the Angler's Rest pub at the end of the access road - around 30 minute walk.

Superb and what I had hoped it would be.

The location was exactly what I had hoped for. The apartment was superb and very clean and the host had thought of everything in terms of amenities to make our stay pleasant.

It's a personal thing, but I suffer from migraines and light affects my sleeping patterns. Unfortunately, the curtains in the bedroom did not blank out any light at all.

Comfortable, roomy, and historic place to stay.

A lovely location, great walks along the river and back along the Monsal Trail. Huge amount of space. Kitchen well equipped. Comfortable lounge area.

Bathroom dark and shower over bath felt plasticky and feeble. Floors creaked alarmingly. Although location beautiful it was (of course as a watermill) down in the valley so rather closed in and shadowed, even in July.

Nice location

It's a great location if want somewhere remote without being too far (driving wise) from a town. Nice pub within walking distance. Great WiFi (we had no phone service)

There were no basics in the kitchen (salt, pepper etc) A lot of walls had marks and scuffs and there was a broken cabinet in the reading nook. Nothing major but there was enough noticeable marks and scuffs to make you think if they're over looking this what else are they over looking when cleaning. Not a con for us but you are directly over a river that makes a decent amount of noise. If you're someone who needs silence to sleep, this isn't the place for you.

Lovely base for walking

Beautiful location and building. Lovely base for walking from the door. Gorgeous views from the windows. As it is immediately above the old mill's water race exit there is a fair bit of water noise; as someone who usually has white noise playing when sleeping this was fine for me.

Thicker, or preferably blackout lined, curtains would help in the bedrooms.

Perfectly placed, gorgeous apartment in the beautiful Peak District!

The location of the property was just perfect. The apartment itself was spacious and bright. Beds were comfortable. The sound of the rushing water in the apartment was incredible. We would love to go back soon

Space, location, views. Outstanding!

Wonderful location, very easy to get on to the Monsal trail and from there you can walk for miles and miles. It is an old mill, so had wonderful views of the river. My favourite spot was a little reading book with a beautiful view. It is a very sizable apartment with of room for the four of us to relax after a day of walking.

5* accommodation in tranquil surroundings

5* accommodation! You seriously can’t fault this beautiful apartment. Spacious, welcoming and set in a stunning location. It’s well equipped and comfortable. We’re already looking forward to returning, but for a longer stay! Also- within walking distance is the Anglers Arms- again- highly recommend.

Relaxing stay in beautiful location

It was warm, clean, comfortable and secure. Large, airy and light living space. Beautiful location for walking or for a remote, self-contained, weekend away. The king size beds and 2 sofas were comfortable. Having 2 en-suites and a 3rd toilet was a bonus. It has a dishwasher (tablets included) and washing machine (no powder). Fairly well equipped kitchen - we cooked a roast dinner and, apart from our own roasting tin, everything we needed was provided. Loads of kitchen cupboard space for our own food. Over all, the apartment was clean and comfortable, but not luxurious, so was priced correctly.

It is a water mill and the gushing water is loud and constant - especially in the master bedroom, as the window does not close entirely. It didn’t bother the other 2 guests and I got used to it by the 2nd night. Go prepared with all your own condiments, beverages and food, Showergel, shampoo and kitchen cleaning spray. No blackout curtains/blinds.

Lovely spacious apartment ideal for walking the Monsal Trail

Lovely spacious apartment, very warm, clean and well equipped, with a short cut direct to the Monsal Trail two minutes away. It would be ideal for two couples as two beautiful comfortable bedrooms each with an en suite. A particularly nice reading nook with lovely river views.

Slightly remote, 25 mins walk to the local pub, which didn’t bother us as we were on a walking break. You could hear the gushing of the river wye all the time which we found delightful, but light sleepers might want to bring ear plugs

Bedroom window ill fitting would not close properly and missing handle on one side,could be draughty in cold weather and water gushing underneath apartment made it noisy at night. Better explanation of door code use could have been better.

A wonderful location, warm and comfortable flat.

A large frying pan or casserole dish you could put on the hob and in the oven would have been useful. There was a lid that looked as though it would have fitted something like this but no container to put it on. Some large mugs as well as the small ones provided. It would have been great to have salt and pepper provided and a few tea bags.

Being by the water. Nice and peaceful. Lovely walks straight from the doorway. Good WiFi Good TV. High ceilings, spacious and good heating.

No heated towel rail in the bathroom, showers were multi spray-massage type but also had standard spray heads which were usable.

Beautiful apartment

Fantastic property and lovely for a quiet getaway. We were travelling for work and absolutely loved this apartment- will definitely visit again. Richard (the host) was super helpful when we had trouble getting in with the keypad. The apartment is big, comfortable beds and good wifi.

Only minor things eg grill took a while to heat, wine glasses weren’t great and hoover could be upgraded.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area. Cosy and warm and very spacious

Comfy beds. Generally very clean and most cooking implements we needed were provided. All kitchen appliances we used worked well. Parking was easy outside. Wifi was very good (but there is an old wifi code on a laminate inside which confused us initially). Ensuite's both had baths with a good shower above and were very clean. Beautiful sound of running water from the river and good walking nearby. We loved the little nook off the living room. We had a lovely peaceful stay.

Generally the accomodation was spotless. However, the grill tray and ovendoor needed a bit of a deep clean as they were sticky to the touch with thick grease from previous visitors, so we avoided using them (though the grill tray and base of oven had been lined with fresh foil by the cleaner) . A few large milky-looking food type stains on sofa throw cushions. Some bigger mugs would be nice. No phone signal on O2 or Vodafone (which can also be a positive if you don't want to be disturbed!).
