The New Inn

Oldie worldly feel of a former coaching inn. Lots of exposed beams, woodwork and huge fireplaces. Or simply, loads of character. Our room (one of three) was very comfortable and spacious. We booked for dinner which I would describe as very good Pub Grub. Excellent menu, nice selection of wine/drinks, and local beers on tap (both very good). Continental style breakfast for a start but cooked also offered. The staff we met were very pleasant, eager to please, and took pride in the quality of service. Will stay again, as an overnight on a further road trip.

A little road noise which should be expected but not particularly intrusive.

The property was a little gem, just 15 minutes drive from Ross-on-Wye

Breakfast was just what we were looking for.

Nothing.

The room was recently renovated and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is tiny but the shower exceptional! Also, the staff were super friendly!

1. The Inn is located at the junction of two busy roads with traffic racing by through the night! There is no double glazing on the roadside window and so the noise is very loud. The hotel gives you earplugs but these only help marginally! In the extreme heat not having a window open isn’t an option which makes the problem much worse 2. Breakfast is a small continental breakfast with limited choice. Pastries were burnt and there weren’t enough for all guests. This seemed to be the only inn locally not offering a cooked breakfast too! 3. Pub food was okay but disappointing given that it is advertised as an Inn offering food with rooms…
