Historic Village, Rare Find, Amazing Views

Ballatar is lovely and less bus coachy than Braemar. Lovely streets and quality shops.

The key box was attached to the back of a drainpipe at ground level. Took a while to find it. Hard to see and not easy access En suite shower needs its electrics checked. Went cold hot cold hot. Tempermental

Excellent location and well stocked kitchen with washer; all comfortable. Ample parking..

Unable to access on the first night, as the key was not provided in the lockbox .We reached out via phone and text to the owner and received no response, even to date. We spent the first night in the parking lot, three of us sleeping in a car. Around 7:30 in the morning, the house cleaner knocked on the car window and gave us her key. We still have not heard from the owner though we received a text asking us to check out on time. We also reached out to Booking.com who promised a response in 24 hours to our text and as yet we have not heard back from booking.com either. Sleeping in the car on a cold night ( about 8°)without restroom facilities really made us lose a day of our trip in Ballater. It was very disappointing not to hear from Booking.com or the ownership about our extreme difficulties.

Great location. Comfortable beds

Stairwells are dirty - not a great first impression. It was very cold when we arrived and would have been nice to have the heating on. Would also have been nice to have teabags and a bit of milk given the cost for the stay. Also, the location of the lockbox is awkward and difficult to access in the dark.
