Gormley Residence

Extremely clean, very quiet down a country land, everything was perfect. A real gem! The Gormley’s have a true country B and B. They show you where to visit on handy maps and cook up a full Irish breakfast every morning that is more than work the 12 euro. This place feels like home, and the area has endless places of interest including hiking, swimming in the loch near Churchill and the national park. I’d love to return! I love this quiet and relatively off the beaten path place, and their true hospitality. The love shows!

We really enjoyed our stay at Gormley Residence. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, a lovely lady who we ended up chatting with for ages! Our room was small but very cosy and comfortable. The house is in a beautiful, peaceful countryside setting, yet still conveniently close to Letterkenny and local pubs for food. A lovely, relaxing place to stay with a very warm and personal welcome.

Good location. Quiet area but close to relatives.

Bed. Did not know Breakfast was not included in price. Unexpected expense.

The proprietors. They were very friendly, chatty and informative. We really liked John's personality and local knowledge. The location was peaceful and pretty. The house was immaculately clean and tidy and smelt wonderful. The shower was very good. The bed felt saggy when we first sat on it but we enjoyed surprisingly comfortable sleeps and the pillows were absolutely wonderful. We also enjoyed chatting to the two lawnmowers, Roberta and Mo (our nicknames for them), who constantly mooched up and down the two lawns flanking the drive.

The rather cramped bedroom, the noisy keys in the bedroom and bathroom doors, the rattling handles, the creaking bedroom door, being able to hear everyone else around and above us clumping about and showering and using the toilet. Not much can be done, I know, about the house with its thin walls and floors.
