Furaha House

The breakfast was excellent; fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice every morning was fantastic, and it's refreshing to have a proper coffee (not instant coffee) for breakfast. Nyama made the tastiest grilled red snapper I have ever eaten, and I have been around the coast many times over the years. He is a superb cook and makes sufficient quantities of food at every meal. He is very helpful, friendly and patient. Very dependable. I loved the balcony and the view of the ocean.

The dust from the construction next door and the noise, which I imagine will be over in a few months. The rooms could do with a spring clean once the construction is over.

Lovely guest house with spacious rooms. Lovely view of the sea from the roof top when you have your breakfast or chill. Nyama (the loveliest man who oversees the property) is extremely friendly and welcoming. His cooking is out of this world and I cannot recommend it enough. Your stay will not be complete without some food made by Nyama. Well located property walking distance to the beach.

There are mosquitoes in the area but the rooms are netted and the bed has a mosquito net too!

The property caretaker Nyama was really helpful, a great cook, and very reliable. The location of the property was also very nice and the terrace was excellent. The rooms were great and overall the place is very pleasant to stay at. Would recommend others to come. I would love to return with a larger friend group in the future as well.

There was construction going around the place so some noise and dust but the evenings were still nice. The bedsheets and towels had some minor stains but were washed and smelled normal.

Location molto centrale, a due passi dal mare e dalla zona “centrale” dove si possono prendere le barche e accedere ai pochi ristoranti della zona. Bellissima terrazza. Nyama è molto gentile e ci ha cucinato la colazione ogni mattina per una piccola aggiunta più che onesta (frutta fresca, uova, pane tostato, succo fresco - buonissimo, the, ecc)

Non ci è piaciuto sostanzialmente nulla della camera tranne quanto elencato sopra. La serratura è molto dura e abbiamo sempre fatto fatica ad accedere alla stanza. I letti non sono particolarmente comodi, ma sono due da una piazza e mezza e non uno matrimoniale, molto corti (io sono alta 1,70 e usando due cuscini non ci stavo). L’insonorizzazione è pessima, come d’altronde anche tutti gli altri 5 alloggi che abbiamo usato durante la nostra vacanza in Kenya, ma qui l’aggravante è che gli infissi sono proprio vecchi e si ha la sensazione di avere sempre la finestra aperta sulla stradina sottostante (la stanza è al primo piano e si sentono i passi delle persone che camminano per strada). Il bagno non ne parliamo, è una stanza con un wc, un secchio e un doccino appeso al muro con un rubinetto che non ti permette di regolare la temperatura, quindi non c’è acqua calda e abbiamo fatto la doccia fredda per 3 giorni (lavando tutto per terra perché appunto, non c’è una doccia vera a propria). Ci sono due piccole finestre senza vetri (totalmente aperte!!!!!!), senza zanzariere e senza tende. In 15 giorni in Kenya mi hanno punto solamente due zanzare, entrambe di notte in questa struttura. Il lavandino è minuscolo ed esterno a questa stanza. Il Wi-Fi nella stanza in cui alloggiavamo noi non aveva segnale, ma era utilizzabile (non particolarmente veloce) soltanto in terrazza.
