Shela Bliss

We booked two rooms and got a whole apartment with lots of space. Breakfast was good. The roof terrace is fantastic.

The house is set back from the beach and it is a 5-10 minute walk anywhere, but not such a big problem. The beach was very windy when we were there in July so we didn’t spend as much time swimming as we wanted to.

The property is a mixture of shared and private spaces, beautifully decorated with inviting hangout spots. The two bedroom apartment we rented was spacious with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and large bathrooms. The top floor was ideal for relaxing or checking email with the most spectacular view. But the real standouts were the manager Abdullah and his assistant Emmanuel who ensured not only that the property was spotless, that our rooms were well cared for with turn down service and other touches, but also that our visit to Lamu was exceptional in every way. We felt very comfortable and cared for.

The kitchen faucet is not easy to fully shut off so be sure not to leave the sink plugged overnight for soaking.

I liked the cleanliness and the staff at Bliss not forgetting the timely breakfast.

- The room and the bathrooms were very small for a couple as compared to what was described i.e "queen size room". - - Kindly offer a variety for breakfast and not rigid as it was on the first day. - Dinner is a challenge since it is located a distance from the beach and the streets are dark, of possible offer to your guest at a cost.

Best swahili breakfast, nice terrace.

I booked a queen room with sea view but there are no rooms with sea view at Shela Bliss. I reported it to the owner he replied that if you exit the room you can see the sea from the terrace. Pictures of the room view are attached. In the 12 pages welcome book he sends before you arrive, with all the activities and all the roules and do's and dont's, not even a word about the NO sea view room. No discount or refund was offered till I asked for it at checkout and I had a poor 15$ discount; you can find no sea view rooms in Shela for half the price of Shela Bliss. Someone already complained about it in January as you can see here on booking, but nothing chenged till some days ago when the descripton was changed to "Queen Room With Direct Access To The Terrace And A Sea View" which is still confusing. Very expencive activities and transfers. Noisy water pressure system even at night.
