La Joya is a quaint property in the middle of Shela. It’s quiet, and peaceful. Alex is lovely, and attentive to your needs. He’s always happy to arrange what you need during your stay - from laundry to boats !
It’s a bit tricky to find where the house is, but the locals are always happy to point you in the right direction. The ground floor rooms lack natural light. Perhaps include insect spray in the rooms for the mosquitoes who get underneath the net at times.

Everything about La Joya is exceptional. The house is superb, a relaxing, wonderful base from which to explore the area. Alex is amazing, keeping a low profile but offering superb advice and interested in everything you say or want to do. The breakfasts were delicious. It really is a perfect place to stay for a few nights.
