Awful - Avoid!

Location was good.

The condition of the property is awful. We have used self catering for many years and have never experienced anything like it. Very surprised to find that most rooms had been painted black, which is an odd choice for self catering. The standard of finish is dreadful. Was surprised to not get any welcome instructions/info pack or welcome pack. When we arrived we were very disappointed to see the state of the kitchen, it was dirty and the kitchenware was beyond awful. At this point we didn't unload the car any further and started to search for alternative accommodation but couldn't find anything so we made contact with owner to complain. Owner acknowledged and sent his mum over to clean the kitchen. Linda, the Mum, acknowledged that the kitchen was dirty and apologised and agreement was made that we could go and buy plates, cutlery, tea towels, glasses, mugs. Although this was a positive response, it was not acceptable for us to be put into this situation when paying for accommodation. Was also very disappointed to learn that although the photos and description listed a washing machine there wasn't one as it had been removed. Instead of arriving in the property and enjoying our first night we had to wait for the kitchen to be cleaned and for the dishwasher to wash all the plates etc before we could use the kitchen so we really lost our first night and continued to debate about leaving the accomodation. Photos listed versus the actual house are quite different and sadly not for the better. The former white kitchen units have been painted black and look very grotty. The standard of finish throughout the property is awful. Downstairs WC - lightbulb hanging down, no lightstring to switch on light, door that would stick so you almost had to burst your way out, section of skirting/flooring missing besides sink. Upstairs bathroom - toilet seat broken, door wouldn't lock. Neither bathroom had sanitary bins.

Great would definitely book again

The house was great and having a pool table made a big difference.

Not having tv channels in the bedrooms, it asked for an amazon account but didn't feel safe putting all my details in.

Good location

Good location for exploring the area, host was very helpful in recommending local attractions, Belmedie beach is stunning and only a few minutes drive, good parking (free). Access to main roads to reach further afield really handy. Being able to take our dog with us and great areas to walk locally, nice nature reserve only a few minutes away. Area was clean and felt very safe, as it was Halloween lots of houses were decorated which was lovely to walk around and look at. Host very quick to respond to any questions prior to and during stay. Plenty of off road parking. Very efficient heating and plenty of hot water for showers, much needed after having a go at SUP in Stonehaven (also recommend this activity). Pool table went down well with our teenagers, Wi-Fi was good to.

Excellent Value - Show Home - Great Location

Great value, 6 of us staying worked out £20 pppn , the pool table was a bonus and kept the kids entertained for hours. It's a very nice property well decorated and the beds were so comfy. Nice quiet area with a play park opposite.

Happy with everything, one suggestion, would be good if the TV s in the bedrooms worked but these are not advertised so wasn't expecting them anyway .

Pleasant but photos need updating

The pool table was a great addition. The overall space was really good plus the added extras of Sky TV and wifi was a hit with the husband and kids

The shower switch being on the landing and not in the bathroom was a bit challenging. The garden was smaller than advertised photos, having dogs with us the outdoor space was important. The kitchen had also altered from the advertised photos, nothing wrong but not what we expected. A couple of issues during our stay but Barrie was very helpful and these were resolved

Decent

Plenty of room in the property for our family.

I would say the property can do with a little tlc. There has been some painting etc done but to a terrible standard. Wasn’t too impressed with the cleanliness. Also there was only 2 forks provided and there were 5 of us. Overall it’s a nice enough house but just a few things to touch up on.
