It's really a comfy bull shed!

A beautifully located property with wide views situated at the end of a single track lane. The property was furnished to a very high standard and nicely sized bathroom, bedroom & kitchen cum lounge/dining room. Everything worked as it should and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay..

An Aerated tap fill for a bath is a no no. Aeration cools the water and reduces the flow making it longer to fill the bath by which time the water has cooled! Don't worry this something found even in expensive hotels. Although we have booked this property for the same time next year we try to avoid anywhere associated with Sykes Country Cottages who we have found unsatisfactory in the recent past.

Small but comfortable, amazing view

Small but very comfortable cottage. Clean. The owners thougt of everything f.e. rubber utensils for non sticking pans, wich were therefore in a good condition. Hard to find in most cottages is our experience. Everything you need ( not more) is there and well thought of. Great bed with crispy white bedlinnen! But the most important feature of this cottage is de amazing view. We were lucky to have great weather so saw astonishing sunsets. For us it was the best cottage ever: complete tranquility, solitude and views to die for.

The couch was not very comfortable and there were no relaxchairs for the outside. But the rest was perfect!

Lovely converted cowshed to stay in with fantastic views

Fantastic location looking across the countryside. Tastefully converted cow shed, all the amenities required for a vacation for us as a couple. Kitchen shocked with everything you need. Comfy bed, large bathroom. Lovely and quiet.

The two-seater sofa was a bit small and not very comfortable, but a minor thing. Everything else was great.

Solitude and a view to die for

A beautiful little gem in the heart of the countryside. Magnificent views even with the rain and grey skies. Looks smaller on the outside. Perfect space for two. The Comfy Cow was very cosy.

The sofa is a two seater so pretty snug if your partner is large but it's not a complaint just good to know if you plan on cosy nights watching movies..

Total relaxation, will be back next year!(already booking)

Total relaxation as soon as we got out of the car. Totally stunning views morning to night. Everything we needed in the stay. Enjoyed the sightseeing but also enjoyed returning everything evening.

Bedding was a bit rustling, effected sleep. Also we have the bruises from the bed corners! As long as we ensured bedding wasn't over the corners we were safer! Lol.

Superb

The Comfy Cow has been thoughtfully laid out and the view is incredible. It was lovely to sit outside at night, firepit going and watching the sun set.

It would have been good if there had been a clothes airer or rotary drier.

A hidden gem in a stunning setting

Really well appointed building in a stunning setting. We also really appreciated how considerate our hosts were when they left fresh bread, milk, jam and Welsh Cakes for us to enjoy when we arrived. I don't normally leave reviews, but the Comfy Cow is so good I have to let everyone know.

I loved how clean and secluded it was… I took my antibacterial wipes just in case I need to quick wipe something before using…. but didn’t have too… it was so much more than I expected… I really rested body and soul.

More lights outside the house. The fire pit wasn’t there. I was really looking forward to that. maybe next time

A cosy and comfortable holiday retreat with a perfect view.

Lovely converted bull pen. Warm, comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped. Wonderful shower and bath to enjoy after a days walking. The bedroom is cosy and we both found the bed very comfortable. The view from the terrace and windows is spectacular. Eating on the terrace overlooking the Welsh valley farmland towards the Black Mountains was a real treat. The Comfy Cow is a great location for exploring Monmouthshire and beyond.

Outstanding Stay: Highly Recommended

We have had the most fantastic week at The Comfy Cow. We were absolutely blown away by the view that you can gaze at right from the living room/kitchen area but on top of that the accommodation was beautifully presented and we had more than what we needed for a lovely self-catered stay. We were left fresh bread and Welsh cakes for breakfast and the fridge was stocked with milk. The bathroom was stunning also, an amazing rain show and a beautiful bath tub we could use to relax in the evenings. The check in and out was super easy and hastle free and the cost was extremely reasonable. I honestly couldn't recommend staying here enough, if you want to see Wye Valley/Forest of Dean/Brecon Beacons. This is the place to stay, I would 100% return.

This property was absolutely stunning! I was completely lost for words when I saw the view from the apartment and it’s the best sun trap! Everything was Covid secure and although we didn’t meet the owners, check in was so smooth. 5/5 for that! I wish we could of stayed longer. Thank you so much for our visit, it was a pleasure. P.S don’t forget to leave a note in the guest book!

We hebben heel erg genoten van het huisje.

Het uitzicht, de omgeving, de rust. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig en in goede staat.

Het zitgedeelte was wat klein maar gelukkig hadden we heel goed weer en konden we tot s’ avonds laat buiten zitten. Een relax tuinzetel mistten we wel wat. Gelukkig was er een parasol. Voor een chauffeur uit de lage landen en dan nog links moeten rijden is de weg ernaar toe wel een uitdaging😊
