A bit of history :
The Hôtel de Ruat was built in Bordeaux in 1780 by the architect André Portier for the parliamentarian François-Alain Amadieu de Ruat (1716-1776). It was listed as a Historic Monument in 1965. It is now private property. The Porte Dijeaux was an entrance to the west of the city of Bordeaux as early as Roman times and the first line of fortification. It has not been affected by the expansion of the thirteenth century to the south. The new ramparts of the 14th century moved it a few meters west (across the ramparts street). Outside, a half-moon-shaped merlon, 8 to 10 m high, served as a redoubt. In particular, it made it possible to repel Cardinal Mazarin's troops in 1650. This last door was replaced by the present monument, built by Voisin between 1748 and 1753 according to the plans of the architect André Portier.

Excellent apartment. Frankc met me and was a great help when I couldn't get the front door key to work,( pull the door then turn the key). After that everything was as advertised. Great location. Highly recommend

The apartment has an absolutely perfect location—steps from shopping, restaurants, and monuments. Many things that I wanted to see were within a 15-minute walk, as were all 4 tram lines. It’s also extremely well setup, with everything you need (washer, dryer, dishwasher, kitchen, comfortable bed, decent storage) nicely arranged in a small space. I stayed there alone; I think it would be fine for a couple but would be tight for 3-4 people. The main bed was comfortable, but the pillows were a little thin/lumpy. The management company was very responsive and clear. Great place!

Le Well Done "We had a good time and the location was excellent.
🙂 The location was superb. Many shops nearby as was the city centre and a 4 minute walk from the nearest tram. Plenty of clean linen. On the ground floor.
🙁 It was a bit small and the air conditioning didn’t get the sleeping area cool and we happened to be there when it was very hot so the nights were uncomfortable. Bed was uncomfortable."
