Highly recommend this Quality accommodation

The property was lovely and an excellent retreat for the family to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday. It has a Spacious well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The games room was great and well used by us. The property is situated in a Lovely rural location close to the City of York. Excellent details sent by the hosts for location and information needed for stay.

If I had to be picky I would say slight attention to detail let them down when it came to cob webs and the oven.

Fabulous cottage

Pool table was a great hit with us all. There's a frog which comes out in the garden at night which which was so cute. Great location, very spacious cottage

Altho the property is clean enough it maybe does need bit if deeper clean or some tlc . Garden is not quite doggy proof for small dogs but not an issue just meant being out with them to supervise

Great space and layout for a big family stay over….. good facilities throughout the house with lots of little bonus areas to sit and chill. The lounge / games area a real bonus! Really good location to access York centre via bus or car.

Do need to sort the red hot shower in the main bathroom as cannot turn it down (others have left a similar review)

Wow! A fantastic stay in a beautiful, spacious cottage.

The property is absolutely beautiful. It is in a great location, only 5 miles from York and 1 mile from Haxby village where there are some lovely shops, cafés and takeaways. The property has a large courtyard and garden so plenty of space for children and dogs to play outside. All outdoor space is enclosed and there is an outdoor seating area. The inside of the property is stunning with a large kitchen diner and lots of living space - it just seemed to go on and on. We particularly enjoyed the games room - the pool table and darts room provided hours of entertainment. The bedrooms were lovely, beds very comfortable and spacious bathrooms. We had absolutely everything we needed from kitchen utensils and crockery, to mirrors in suitable places, hairdryers in each room, there really isn’t anything that hasn’t been thought of. Every corner of the property was absolutely immaculate. We absolutely loved our stay and would love to return.

Nice place but wouldn’t go back … needs a thorough clean to get rid of cobwebs

Lots of space for several People

It is advertised as 3 bathrooms but it is 2 plus a toilet. The oven kept tripping the electrics but in fairness an engineer was sent out …. But not until the next day and we had ordered a shop to eat in the first night which didn’t work due to the oven malfunctioning

Love York but would stay elsewhere next time

Lovely kitchen, nice garden which was quiet. Games room which we used and nice big family bathroom. Lots of seating areas in different rooms so good for a large group.

WiFi awful only really strong in games room at the router. No coffee machine :-( One of the bedrooms is very small & the other is 2 single beds pushed together. Pots/pans dirty and marks on the curtains in games room. For over £300/night expect cleanliness and a coffee machine or even a welcome pack!

Beautiful cottage with lots space for our group of six, the games room was used a lot

A lovely cottage, with lots of downstairs space for our group of 6 adults. A good size kitchen which was fully equipped and perfect for our needs, the added bonus of a living/games room meant we didn’t even use the lounge/dining area or the conservatory. Lovely touches like having Alexa in the kitchen and games room was great. Upstairs the 3 bedrooms and main bathroom were all lovely, clean and modern. The master bedroom was a generous size and benefited from an en-suite bathroom. The 3rd bedroom being the smallest was fine, although I did need to get ready in the other room as it was difficult to get ready for our night out, but this wasn’t an issue. Lovely clean, tasteful decor throughout the property. The cottage is beautiful inside and out. Seamless check in. Couldn’t fault it one bit.

Girl's trip to York

Loved all of the different places to sit and relax, the games room was an excellent touch. The place was clean and tidy, we had mostly everything we needed for a lovely stay.

We couldn't find a duvet anywhere for the sofa bed, luckily we were 1 person down so managed with the beds upstairs but would have been an even better stay if we could find the extra bedding.

The house is big and spacious, it is very clean, good space for parking and the location is close by car to York city. The place is also very peaceful and calm.

The kitchen utensils need upgrading. We had to buy foil containers to cook our food. The 3rd bedroom is very small and there is a gas stove that did not work.

I forgot to mention the important bits. Beds were extremely comfortable, good location. The house was lovely and everybody had a lovely stay. Would go again.

Over prised

The size of the property was more than we needed or used. the garden area looks bigger than it is on the photos. Although its just the courtyard its very well kept and lots of space.

The property was amazing on a whole, although it was disappointing on arrival to have to clean the kitchen floor, table and pots and pans before we used them. Dried food stuck to plates is a huge deal for kids with autism, we were travelling with 3 of them of different ages. One set of bedding had to be stripped due to bad stains, although you could tell they had been washed and ironed, the stains were so obvious they should have been changed prior to our arrival. 3 radiators did not work and the kitchen was so cold we could not sit in there to eat without coats on. This was rectified by the host after a first very cold evening. Fresh clean bedding was also dropped off. Everything was dealt with extremely quickly and friendly, although at £400 per night i would expect the basics to be perfect. We found the main oven to not be working on the Saturday evening, we were due to leave at 10am the Sunday so didn't see the point on reporting it so the food we had bought to cook a roast dinner was wasted and we went out to eat. the curtains in the kitchen had awful stains all along the bottom and something smeared on the backs the games room curtains were equally dirty. To charge customers an £80 fee for cleaning id would expect the property to be spotless. There's no light on the driveway or signage which made locating it difficult after dark, and for the delivery food we ordered. my daughter had to walk up the driveway and wait on the roadside as the local delivery driver could not find us.

On the whole a very nice and spacious cottage.

Good parking available. Local amenities within a 5 minutes drive, Easy to get to York and surrounding areas Very quiet location even though near the main road. Lovely house and plenty of space for a quiet moment

Fridge freezer needed cleaning due to green mold. On just one day the ensuite bathroom smelled of sewage but may be due to septic tank & hot weather combination. Pool table has been abused by previous guests quite a bit but ok for friendly games.

Lots of parking available, well stocked kitchen and beds were super comfy. Comfortably suited 7 of us with one on the sofa bed. Very clean. Just a lovely property! Convenient access to York.

Beautiful cottage- we would definitely book again.

Absolutely stunning and immaculate cottage, the pictures don’t do it justice at all. There was 6 of us, all adults, and we had more than enough space. The pool table is an excellent addition. There was no problem with hot water, I think this was mentioned in some other reviews.

We had an issue with the cooker tripping the electricity but the agent said they would come out and sort it straight away. We didn’t need to use it further though so didn’t have anyone out. The WiFi isn’t very good. There are so many smart TVs but you couldn’t watch anything that needed WiFi.

We enjoyed our break to a fantastic area.

The additional facilities of the pool table and air hockey were good for family fun was good.

Unfortunately there was building work going on next door. We emailed the agents regarding, but heard nothing - the lack of communication was very poor. Drilling early in the morning, when your on holiday wasn’t ideal. Their were two pool cues, one was broken completely and the other damaged - this was frustrating.

The property was spotless. When we arrived we were thrilled with the cottage. Beautifully decorated throughout modern very well equip kitchen. Plenty of rooms on the ground floor so 6 adults didn’t trip over each other. They had maintained the character of the building. Really couldn’t fault it.

We did have a slight problem with the en-suite shower. We couldn’t get hot water at all. We just used the main bathroom for showers so wasn’t a major issue for us but may need attention.
