The grounds are beautiful, lovely walks, lots of activities for children. The house visit guided tour for children 1-2pm was delivered in a child friendly way.
For self catering the fridge was too small, no net curtain on the kitchen window other visitor passing by looking in while you are eating.

staff were very nice and there was always a big of sticks left ready by the door for the fire. the forest walks were brilliant
*lots of cobwebs and spiders - kids didn’t want to sleep in some rooms *only one room had beds that weren’t damp * the power went the first night
